Need Portrait photos, please help!

Mattyh have you got a website that shows up in google? to be honest everyone that posted have any of you got a website that ranks 1st page?

so if you don't rate on google you don't sell photos? - wrong - wake up and smell the coffee, google is a starting point if you know nothing. most of the people here who make money from photography do it from targeted marketing.

if you want professional photos you need to pay (that why they are called professional), I'll do you a good deal - how many do you want?:rules:
 
sold three from my website. the rest is on word of mouth and more bookings coming in.

so i must be crap as i dont know my rank on google
 
What i was going to do was try and get some traffic to my blog and add adsense to it, to make some extra cash.

And Marcel to say I know nothing is wrong. What do you know about online marketing? Was you a online marketing manager at the age of 22 on 30K!

Robert you may pull that from googlecommunity, but if you actually looked im a senior member there, because i answer as well as ask questions. If you check my first post there was nothing in that which deserved the response i got.

I never claimed to be a seo god, i have alot to learn in the area as there are new techniques all the time. To be honest I didnt realise how much the images meant to the photographers, I thought they made most there money through selling them, once that was done just deleted them or used them on there site, but im wrong.

I have learnt one thing and thats i cant just take images and use them so im going to have to scrap the ones online now and find some from somewhere.

Despite what people think i do hold photographers highley, I work for a magazine and i know how one image can take hours to setup in certain cases.

You guys are acting like its some sort of business im trying to setup. Its just something ive got interested in and decided to blog and if it gains traffic maybe try and earn some cash out of.

Come on guys its only abit of friendly banter! on a serious note, what are the rules on those royalty free websites, can you use them in anyway you want? I'm removing the ones online now through whats been said on this post, but i need to find some new ones, seriously buy them is the best option?????
 
Yeah they do but not in great detail, when they say these photos are royalty free, does that mean i can just use them as they are or i can actually edit them and MAYBE use them for commerical use???

If the only way is to buy them then thats what ill have to do, but like i said before it was only abit of fun, if i did start making money i would prob use that to buy better images. I more interested in getting the site up and running in google and getting traffic so i can put on CV then get an extra £25 max a month.

On a serious note now, you have made yourself quite clear that you want to generate income using images that are not your own, via adsense, for an extra £25 a month.

Ok, i understand why people might think that and why they wont want to help me but thats not my intention to use other peoples work to gain money.

This is the truth, if i can get a free blogspot blog into page one of google under keywords such as photoshop makeovers and digital makeovers then that shows massive skills in SEO and would be a positive thing for my cv. The reason for wanting to add the adsense is because i have'nt had to use it in the past and thought that if i added it to this blog there is know risk involved as it was free anyway. Do you know how much traffic i would need to gain anything wearth shouting about through adsense! Google pays 75% of the ad cost to the blogger and keeps the rest but thats only when the ad is clicked, to have a add on googles first page would be about £1 to 50p 1-3 position so to have it hidden away on a blog would be even less about 20p 75% of 20p is 15p which means that i would need 200 clicks to earn 30 quid, which isnt going to happen with a blog like mine.
 
Im starting to get the feeling that this forum isnt as good as its page rank, and im being serious now all joking aside, you sound very unprofessional. There are a few on here that dont and you can tell they are pros and work in the industry but most sound like its just a hobby or do photography at college or something.

There's nothing wrong with photography being 'just' a hobby and it doesn't imply anything about the abilities of the person concerned either.

Time for a chill pill. You've got off on a bad footing, and you've taken some stick. If you want to join in the forum you're more than welcome to hang around, but if you're gonna keep sniping, then it's our ball and our game and you're gonna lose.

Relax. Have a browse of the board, there's lots to learn here.

:thinking: You could be right but at least we're all old enough to have been to college.

Your problem is you haven't been straightforward, have chosen to present yourself as professional yet use grammar you should be ashamed of, and then choose to denigrate us. It's hardly the best way to make friends and influence people. Perhaps you could come back in a few years time, when you've been to college!
 
apg1985- to attempt to put an end to this (as although i was laughing my head of, when first reading this post, it has now became quite tiersome), there are many many many other photography formums...youve screwed up any chances of getting photographs on this one, by being un-professional, rude, and quite insulting (speaking from someone who 'only does photography as a hoby' as you so Degenerately put it).
learn from your mistakes on this forum, try else where, and please for your own sake, next time you want people to give up there portrait photographs (which take along time and alot of effort to take), try and be nice,
just my thoughts
a hobbiest.
