Non UK Need ideas

my wife has decided that she wants to take me on a holiday for my birthday next year( could be at any time of year though). We were thinking of the Glass Igloos in Lapland for 4/5 days but I feel there may be better options out there. It needs to be a holiday we would both enjoy. My preferences are somewhere scenic with loads of photo opportunities. Also thought of Iceland or Lofoten as my wife would love to see the northern lights at some point but we could do that another time. Where have you visited that stuck in your mind- post photos to help me decide if you feel you can help. Cheers!

Thanks fir the replies so far. Iceland is a strong possibility however i would live to just go for an out and out photo trip if i go there which wouldnt be good for my wife.Need to really think hard on that one.
Orkney/Shetland etc is on our to do list but we will be taking the dogs with us to enjoy it all together so maybe not for this trip but defo soon as i have visited several islands around the coast but bever Orkney etc.

I have thought also about Slovenia, South of France etc etc so options are really open.

we would love to do any of the above but wife developed massive phobia of flying so we end up in Scotish highlands in log cabin which we always love just wish we could get her on a plane to do one of the above

I have been doing some searching and reading up and I have narrowed it down to either Abisko or Lofoten. Both offer nice photo opportunities and the chance of Northern Lights which would be my main aim on the trip. Anyone any advice on the mentioned locations, I would be looking at staying for 5-7 nights. Thanks.

I think you would be hard pressed to have a bad time in Lofoten.
I've not been but I will be making a couple of trips this winter
