Hi,

My 350d has just knacked. i put the battery in and it switched on i tried to go onto the menu but when it was on the menu the camera switched off. now the cameras cf light won't even flash when the battery is in and it won't switch on. i was ment to be going out this morning to get early pics but my bloody camera has packed in. Anything i can do to make it work

(P.S dont bother saying buy a nikon because im not really in the best of moods)

Doesn't really help fix anything but might give more clues as to the real state.

Connect the USB cable to your PC, switch the camera on and see if the PC knows whether it's there.

Should show whether it's very dead...as in dead battery type symptom...or whether the visible functions are dead but the camera is powered.

Its in the computer switched on and nothing at all is happening the computer doesnt recognise it
 
You could try cleaning the contact points with a rubber.
It might just be a bad conection.
 
Follow Dave P's suggestion first.

Secondly, pop the lens off and power up.....slight chance that there's a short circuit in the lens. You should at least see something on the camera if this is the case.

How many batteries do you have?....sorry if that's a bit basic.

If it's just the one then pop it back into the charger and watch the light to see what the charger thinks the state of the battery is.

Ive got one battery, its ment to be fully charged ive put it in the charger and the light is orange, but normally even when it is fully charged the battery will charge up a bit more (well im not sure if it actually does) in the charger

tried the lens thing aswell didnt switch on
 
i might get a new battery get it fixed and sell it, im sick of it playing up on me
 
Well if it's been a problem before there must be something that needs fixed, is it still under guarantee?
 
I dont have the guarentee stuff as i bought it second hand and i think it is out anyway
 
i am going to buy a new 400d and my stepdad is getting my 350d for christmas repaired
