Hi all,

Well, despite doing photography for a couple of years now, several weddings etc there is something that I still struggle with, a lot.

Getting what I see on screen on to print.

Most of my work is digital images/DVDs etc and on the whole, the output is the same or very similar to my calibrated monitor however, when it comes to printing I can get such varied and in some cases **** results that it makes me want to :bang:

So, does anyone have any links to websites, guides, videos etc that explain the processes involved from the ground up? things like colour management, paper choice, printer types etc as I really want to get a good working knowledge of the whole area.

As this point, I'd be willing to spend a week working at a printers for free just to understand it! :bonk:

best bet is to use the search function for monitor and printer calibration. it's been discussed many times before

Have a look at the computer darkroom web site

http://www.computer-darkroom.com/home.htm

Lots of tutorials there. Also look up Soft Proofing. Even though you have a calibrated monitor and are using profiles you can still get miss matches. Soft proofing simulates how your image will print using your selected profile. It's not difficult to do if you have any recent version of Photoshop
