Need help to make this white background pls

Hi I like this photo but the floor is not white.
How would be best to do this?

Others may be able to do better but here's my attempt.

I just used 'quick selection tool' in Photoshop then adjusted the brightness...I'm sure there's an easier way.

I'll remove, if needed.

I used patch tool to remove the line between the floor and background then I used the dodge tool set to highlights and 1% with a large soft brush to brighten where needed. I also did a selection around the child to prevent it from being affected by the dodge tool.
