Hi all,

Firstly, I need to apologise for my bad english.

Most of the time I've been taking pictures of landscape and scenery. Recently I'm trying hard to take some portraits and glamour types of pictures. I invited my friend (girl) with me and brought along my gears (450D + Tamron 28-75 f2.8 + 580EXII). I dont know how to get started on this. I dont know how to ask her pose. (probably will print out some pose to show her)
She's a friend of mine ( not a model) and dont have any experience at all and kinda shy on mild posure. Most of the picture are just standing straight and smile to camera. (very normal, more like vacation picture)
Its my fault, I dont have experience at all and cant guide her.

I need help on this and to gain more experience. I wouldnt wanna waste her time again until I get better and be more productive in shooting. I feel like just wanna format my memory card.:bang::bang::bang:

theres a post on here somewhere with a posing guide (search posing guide) which has loads of poses in, I'd advise getting the flash off camera and into a softbox or umbrella or bouncing it to give more depth to the light

I would suggest you hire a professional model for a shoot. That way you can concentrate on the technical side of the photography, lighting exposure and composition and let her concentrate on the modeling side, posing, hair and make up. There are plenty of models willing to work with inexperienced photogrpahers, after all their money is as good as anyone elses :)

Check out sites like www.modelmayhem.com to contact models directly or use an agency. Just be honest with the model and explain you are new it will be fine. This is how I started working with models. :)

hmm...thank you very much of the construction ideas

Do you think its a good idea to look for some experience photographer to work with?
Be an assistant or something
