Hi

I got my first DSLR, Flash and a canon L lens and still have not got round to insuring it.

But i'm not sure how to go about it.

do you guys get separate cover? how much does this cost?

Home contents cover? if i go this route do i need to notify them? and does it cover me for outdoors?

I will phone my home contents insurer but was wondering what everyone else does. and how much i costs?

Thanks :)

Home contents with ING Direct.

Standard contents for £30,000, plus £10,000 photographic equipment in and away from the home, loss, theft and accidental damage.

Premiums work out as £27 plus pennies per month.

Worth speaking to your insurance company about notifying them of the tog equipment, as items over a certain amount (away from the home) need to be specified on many insurers policies

I`ve just added mine to the household cover too. I was with Towergate last year, it was £110 for about £2500 worth of cover.

£3500 this year, for about £40 a year extra. I`ve checked the cover, and it`s as comprehensive as I had last time.
