Hi all,

I am looking for some recommendations for a colour laser printer

It needs to be able to scan and copy, so multi functional is a must

I would need to be able to connect to it via usb and WiFi, a network connection would be an added bonus but not needed

It would need to be able to accept compatible toner cartridges.

Not wanting to spend a fortune on it either

Thanks in advance.

Take care,

Keith

I am looking for a colour laser printer

Thanks anyway

Colour laser multifunction starts getting expensive

I would say better off with two devices cheap inkjet based scanner copier from canon pixma and a matching cheap colour laser.

I already have a cannon multifunction printer and it certainly is not cheap to run hence why I am now looking at a laser option

I am looking at the long game in keeping costs down so having two printers on the go is not an option as this would add extra costs and not reduce them

Well the device will start around £500.

The black toner is smaller than a black and white printer and the cost per page is a lot more than a black and white printer.

How much colour printing do you do?

We have gone from a BIG colour laser at work to a BIG black and white laser and a small colour laser. It saves us a few hundred £ each year.

They can be found for not much more, even less in some cases, than the one already linked to above

Really only after peoples recommendations on which one they have found the best.

The warenty issue is a non issue, thanks anyway

I had to set up a small satellite office to our parent in Australia... found a Serviced Office which offered printing but started to cost us a fortunate. I then went to buy our own.

This has been in use for a year and has done well....

HP wireless Laser printer/scanner

They are quite widely available

Not sure I follow you

The duty cycle on a laser printer would far outstrip our current inkjet printer

Just taking the black for instance:

Inkjet duty cycle up to 400

Laser duty cycle up to 1600

Laser duty on pure black and white 35,000. black toner on similar sized colour printer 15,000. Yet the toner for the black and white printer was only 33% more expensive so was a lot cheaper to run.

Cost savings on toners only matters if you are printing a lot. I have a multi-function colour Samsung CLX-2160 (no longer made) which I bought for ~£150 when lasers were quite cheap (about 5 years ago). Since then it has done ~5000 sheets. I put compatible carts in, and am happy with it and it is very cheap to run (I go through a set a year or thereabouts). Even if I were to cut my supplies cost to 0, it still wouldn't make sense to have separate b/w and colour printers.

keep the multifuntion printer just for scan and copy then is bought and paid for and buy a separate colour laser
