My D50 was stolen :'( :'( all my lenses (all 2 of 'em :D) went with it in my kit bag too so i need a body and kit lens because thats all i can afford so close to christmas.

Im thinking EOS400D but there's also a few Nikons since i last looked into purchasing a camera and im pushing my budget to be able to afford a EOS400D so something the same price/spec or cheaper would be best :)
 
Awww Lee - so sorry to hear about that. How about the Canon kit being sold by Double Agent over on classified? Anything in there any good? Does your home insurance not help with paying for a replacement?

My fault it was nicked really, i left it in a public area at work - unattended so its my own stupid fault really.

I saw something comparing the D80 to EOS400, they look very similar so im not sure which to go for really. Both similar spec, both similar price, both getting good reviews.

Am i best just having a play with both and seeing which feels nicer? anyone had a play with both?
 
If you're undecided between the two and have weighed up the pros and cons then I would say having a play with both is definately your best bet. One will undoubtedly just feel "righter" than the other! :)

(Shocking English but you know what I mean!:p )
 
The D80 is supposed to be an excelent camera. Havnt heard a great deal about the 400D though.

Sorry to hear it. I hate to hear horror stories like this no matter whether you left it in sight or not. I am always fearful of the same thing happenning if left in the car or elsewhere.

I can do you a good deal on a Canon EOS 300D or a Canon EOS 20D.
 
Keep your eye on fleabay for someone selling your kit.
 
I have recently purchased a D80 it’s a brilliant camera IMO and for the price you can't go wrong ;)
 
I think im going to plump for the D80, because i liked my old camera and its similar in so many ways. Going to wait till next pay day though, it means i can afford some decent goodies to go with it :D
