Yes
Not complaining about fare prices which is good AFAIC but trying to understand the fares on London Transport tube and bus.

On arriving at kings X main rail station we took the underground from Kings X to Victoria Underground. Checked in at hotel then back on the underground at Victoria over to Covent Garden station, then from Covent Garden underground to Piccadilly station.

Finally at 22.30 a bus from Piccadilly Circus to Victoria Bus Station.

All travel a contactless wi-fi debit card was used and placed on the card reader at both ends of tube journeys, also it was used on the one bus journey.

According to TFL.gov.uk website a single fare on tube using contactless or oyster card is £2.40, a flat fare on the bus being £1.50. I make that a total of £8.70 for the days fares. On checking my bank account I'm only charged £6.50.

As I said I'm delighted with the either fare I'm just confused I'm only paying £6.50, have I missed something ?

Ah! Got it now, I wasn't sure how the capping system works. Thanks for the link.

It is quite clever isn't it. I've never hit the weekly cap, as for my health and fitness I try and run back to the train station. But I assume that on the fifth day the amount will be even less and sixth and seventh day it will be free.
