I'm wanting a flash for my Cannon 500d and although the 580EX -II would be nice, its way out of my budget.

I've played around with my camera enough now and have even tagged on with a wedding photographer to get some experiance.

I took pictures of my brother-in-laws wedding and really impressed myself with the results however, the pictures of the night do clearly showed that the built in flash was not sufficient for purpose. The pictures were dark and the background of the photos were lost to the darkness.

So i need a flash without breaking the bank. i've looked at the YN-560 (GN58) which seems to be well equipped for the price (about £50) and other similar flashes but would it be better for me to just buy the standard Cannon Speedlite 270EX which isn't as well equipped but is a tried and tested as a flash.

Please help. :bonk:

Cheers
