Nearly PC upgrade time, looking at some parts

I've got an old (six years I think) PC, some of the components of which have now completed the cycle from running pretty much anything on high settings to appearing in the minimum requirements for games. It's also not running Lightroom as well as I'd like so I'm looking at starting to get bits together to build a new one.

I want to avoid awkward pitfalls that aren't immediately obvious. Some I had with this system were the board supporting DDR3 but only up to 4GB and the case being a bit of a pain to get HDDs into (it's a fairly large but cheap one).
I'm also not really up to date on all the different sockets and so on, I think I've got that right by reading the specification sheets but I'm not totally sure.

Does anything about this jump out as being wrong?

Antec 1100 case (here on Overclockers)
I wanted to be in the £60 region ideally but there seems to be a jump after that from cases that have screw-in HDD enclosures to the ones with the side loading systems which is something I want. And a size jump which I also want even if it's only to make it easier to work inside the case.

ASUS P8Z77-V LK motherboard (here on eBuyer)
I looked for a Z77 one (I gather that's better than Z68 for the processor below) and arrived at this. Replacing an ASUS P5Kc.

Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz (here on eBuyer) (changed since the first two replies)
The i7s are too much and the i3s don't look serious enough so this came out as looking okay. I'm currently using an Intel Q6600 2.4GHz quad and want something spiritually similar.
Probably with this (on eBuyer) or a similar heatsink because I've read some bad things about the stock Intel one, I'll check what the temperatures are like first.

Corsair 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Vengeance memory (here on eBuyer)
4GB at first because I'm tight for money but I'll probably add another 4GB at a later date (I did that with my current system) and maybe another 8GB after that just for fun. The low profile version because I'm not sure if the version with the big heatsink will clash with a big cooler on the CPU. 1.5v to match the limit for the CPU (if I've read correctly).

GPU?
I'm not really sure about the GPU yet and I don't think it'll be part of my initial purchase (to absorb the cost over time), I'll have to make do with the 8800GT for a while. Again I'd like a spiritual successor to my current equipment which I guess is something like the GTX 660Ti? Though I might have to go a bit lower than that.

I've got a Corsair 620W power supply with modular cables that I'll reuse. I might replace it at some stage but I can't see any reason to make it a priority.

I'm going to reuse my current HDDs (they're newer than the rest of the current system anyway) and the optical drive doesn't really need discussion.

First thoughts while nodding off..

Why a 2nd gen processor rather than 3rd?

Also watch the power supply has the 4/8 pin atx connector. If its 6 years old it probably won't have an 8 pin for newer boards. You can get a 4 to 8 adapter however.

What are you doing about operating system? Do you have 32 or 64 bit presently?

Agree with Neil here.... Where's the SSD? Where's the 8+G of memory, where's the gen 3 ix processor.....

Exactly the kind of stuff I posted this for, cheers guys.

Processor - I had no idea what denoted the generations though I now gather it's the first number. I've edited the first post with a different processor as it was a very wrong choice.

I'll check the power supply cables though I suspect you're right.

Operating system is Windows 7 x64.

I haven't listed HDDs because I've already got them, an SSD and two 1TB drives.
