Places to photograph or viewpoints to catch sunsets? would be much appreciated, I've missed the morning light so going to go out in the evening weather permitting,

Formby Beach or Southport beach? which is north of liverpool (follow the M57 north)

You could go to the docks and do a sunset over the skyline of the waters edge... Just be careful with your kit.
 
Or pop over the water to Hoylake, Meols or West Kirby for some sun setting over the water. You could get lucky and walk over to Hilbre Island and get some shots from there, or set up at Red Rocks and use that location.
 
You could request a sunset TP meet at the very last moment of the day
 
If you are on foot and in the city centre, then try the Pier Head with three great buildings as well. Go to St George's Hall and there's the Art Gallery, Library and Museum as well as the hall itself. Walk up Hardman st to the Philharmonic Pub, be sure to take a picture of the mens' urinals. Walk along Hope St in either direction, you'll come to a cathedral. I took a number of good sunsets from the corner of Hope St and Hardman St and got the Liver Buildings in shot. I hope that helps.

xplosion got an indian takeaway and watched the olympics...:bang: gnna head out some time after work this week when the weathers a bit clearer, might be a meet!!
 
Please post if you want a meet. There's plenty of us who can show you round Liverpool.

Don't expect too much, I was a bit dissapointed by the exhibition TBH, as was the missus who is a big Klimt fan!! :(

I am from Birkenhead but have lived in Toronto for the past 4 years. The West coast of the Wirral is a great spot for sunset shots. Look forward to seeing them.
 
seeing them ?? you mean your not comming for a liverpool meet then :lol:
i am actually trying to get a move over to CA soon but the other side in BC
