I've used cokin and Hitech.

Hitech are deffinitley much better I would say nearly as good as Lee's.
And you can fit them onto cokin holders just get a right size filter

Kood or SRB (made by Hitech/Formatt in Wales) both decent quality and very good value. Kood grads are made by Kood in UK - Hoya don't make square filters.

Give hitech a go (85mm is enough for your lenses?). Lee aren't perfect either. There are cases when manual exposure blending is the only way. Lightroom can normally apply software grads really well, and in some cases the results are better than the real thing (no extra flare and ghosts). Sometimes the filters are a must.

P.S. Kood has nothing to do with Hoya. Kenko is their budget branding.
 
Kood All the way - £10 a pop and no colour casts at all.
 
Another thumbs up for Kood. Still getting to grips with mine but seem great for the price. Bought from Premier Ink and service and delivery were top notch. Under 24 hours for delivery!
 
I've used both hitech and kood - no problems with either (apart from the awkwardness of using this type of filter). Kood filters are a real bargain. I also find that cheap holders from ebay work well - and if you have more than one lens, you could buy either an appropriate extra adaptor or an extra holder, without breaking the bank
 
Yeah I also use Kood and have never had an issue with them. I also bought them from Premier Ink, who are up the road from where I live, and they were superb on price and delivery.
I recently stacked 3 ND filters to my holder, to take slow water shots and they were superb. No casting and gave me great results. Bargain.
 
Which holder type is recommended? P type of better going for the z-pro?
 
Well that depends on the size of your lenses. For most lenses up to 77mm you will most likely need the P range.
For focal lengths down to 20mm you will need a wide angle P filter, so you eliminate the vignetting on the pics.

I have been toying with the Zpro too as my 11-16 will still show the sides of the holder even with the wide angle P holder.

Maybe someone can clarify that I can still use a Zpro holder with P filters etc.

What lenses do you have and we will have a better idea then :-)
 
I modified my slimline P holder to work on a 19mm, full frame, 77mm threaded lens by chopping the corners off. Weakens it a fair bit but it's not exactly expensive or important kit. (was an ebay job). Stopped it vignetting when at a funny angle, it was ok when used dead straight anyway.
 
Just a quick question - thought it best to put in here:


Am I better getting the kood set mentioned above (could probably get that in the next few weeks), or am I better saving up for a LEE set? (Would probably be September/October before I could afford one)
