Hi all,

I'm trying to figure this out and I'm just going around in circles, so I'm hoping at least someone may have been in the same position previously and worked it out!...

I'm looking to get a couple of grads and a cir-pol for a 12mm lens on a crop sensor body camera. So maybe some of you Fuji lovers out there with the 10-24 lens have worked this out?

I'm currently leaning towards Formatt-Hitech, or possibly Cokin - can anyone tell me if I need to go up to 100mm filter width to avoid vignetting with a 12mm lens on a crop body? I doubt I'd used more than one filter and the polarizer if that helps.

If anyone else has some advice on other brands that may suite, feel free to shout up

Thanks :)

I'd say yes, you'll need the 100mm system. If I remember rightly Hitech say there 85mm system is only suitable down to around 28mm full frame equivalent.

Lee also advise the 100mm system on their website for the Fuji 10-24 over the Seven5 system.

Thanks Ian, I thought it might be looking that way. Going to be expensive! [emoji2]

Price of the 100mm system is what is stopping me going back to a Nikon with crop sensor. Lucky enough that with my micro 4/3rds system I can get away with an 85mm filter system

I wouldn't have the polariser on the 12mm. Way too wide for that.

Your skies will be different shades of blue.

On the Lee website there is filter system match. just put the lens details in and it will advise you the best system to use. For example the Canon 10-18mm EFS it suggests the 100mm system.

Cheers gents, Ive opted a 100mm setup so I'll see how that works out when it arrives

Which system are you buying as I'm looking to get some filters and can't fully decide what make? I'm an looking at Lee or Nisi.

I'm also looking at the Lee filter setup. I'm going to be using it on the Canon 17-40mm F4 L lens and seen I need to get the wide angle adapter. was thinking on getting the big stopper and adding some ND's and Grad ND's at a later time

I opted for a Lee holder in the end, purely because I found one in the classifieds with a decent cir pol bundled in for a pretty good price. As far as filters themselves go, its a work in progress, its most likely going to be Formatt Hitech, or again... Lee

I got all my Lee filters and holders used from Ffordes, generally half price. All immaculate.

That's a good shout, I never thought to look on Ffordes for filters

They will probably also be able to give you good advice as to what is appropriate in addition to the comments above.
