The TP52 - 2026 NCF15 52 for 2026 Week 13 Night Sky

Dialed the right settings in there Nick :)

Nice light and colour - can't decide if it would be better if the gnomon was the plane of focus, but either way the fairly shallow dof works well.

If the background was a bit more OOF that would be an excellent image :)

Two good shots, crow is nicely separated from the background. Punchy colours on the flower and like the focus falling off the outer edges

Nice flaaaaar :)

The pose of the Crow is perfect, and the light on the feathers is lovely.

I really like the shock of yellow, and the detail against the red in the flower shot.

Always like a good crow shot Nick and that's a great one. Your crows look a little different than ours.

I do like your red shot as well.

Very minimalist, excellent ;)

Love it! :)

Agree with all the above comments, lovely scene that should be on a wall.
Care to share the processing?

Week 13 Night Sky
Jupiter with the 4 Galilean moons. 300mm + 2x converter. Hand held bracing against a wall as it moves too fast to bother with a tripod. 2 exposures, one for the planet detail and one at high iso to get the moons, combined in photoshop.
Jupiter-1.JPG

Very impressed for that setup! There's hope for my 600mm with built in x1.4 giving 840mm F/5.6!

A clear night and knowing where to look is the challenge!

That's a heck of a shot handheld Nick!

I used to have an 8" Dobsonian Telescope that would easily image Jupiter with a DSLR/Mirrorless attachment (but you're right that the speed the earth moves makes tis sort of capture tricky unless you have an alignment kit).
Love the night sky, but sadly had to sell the scope as really could use it effectively in my garden any more (bloody trees grown too tall!!)

This is super impressive.
