Yes
Gawd - have I got news for you !!!

Well, I ought not to tell you who arrived late, who took most items of clothing off before coffee, or who is the most rubbish at taking pictures at this stage, but watch this space...!!!
It was an eye opener, I can tell you...!

As for CJ's whip - man, that thing cracks hard, as my back can show you !

Gotta go - the Mistress is coming back...

Your reliability in this domain may be restricted by the amount of alcohol you have consumed however we might disregard this in return for a good story.

EXCUSE ME !!!
I am stone cold sober, and trying to recover from the 3 and a half hours it took me to get from London to Brighton due to engineering works, and then the most enjoyable 2 hours it took to be driven back by PSP2user through the traffic - up again at 6.00am and setting off in 5 mins for more torture...
But, do I have some beans to spill....

This is all sounding very interesting! Looking forward to the complete write-up when everyone sobers up. :D

Cheers,
James

Right, I am back from the workshop, am sober and knackered, and before the deluge of gossip, stories and downright lies come spouting from my unstoppable gob, I need to say a few things.

This weekend was something I have been looking forward to for many months, and it has been the best I have had for ages. CJ is a fantastic photographer, a wonderful woman, and a great teacher. She is funny, good fun to be with, and has tolerance in spades (wonder why she needs that ?). She is also beautiful !
The TP members I met there were, without exception, also an amazing bunch - every one of them bought something to the weekend, no one came laden with ego or attitude, and all of them taught me lots. My brain has shut down, such is the information it is trying to take in, so I am keeping this short till another day, but I feel that I was really lucky to be a part of such a great event.
Many thanks to all of you for all you put in, and have done to help me along. I hope you all feel the same way, and just in case, I would also like to apologies for my silly jokes, and endless quips...
Some truly lovely things were said to me, and psp2user, brave bloke that he is, took me back to London both nights, so had to listen to another 2 hours of my waffle - thanks Fella !

So, just again, Thanks to you all, but mainly CJ.
Respect.

I couldn't agree more Steveinbrighton ;)

I feel I have learnt so much this weekend that I don't know how I am going to keep it all in. CJ - not only are you an amazing and inspirational photographer, you are also a fantastic teacher. You make the most baffling of subjects sound so obvious and easy. I just can't wait to put it all into practice now. One thing's for sure - I know now that I will never buy a flash!

And to all the TP members I met this weekend - what a great bunch of ladies and gentlemen, I enjoyed meeting you all and hope to hook up again before too long.

Now....bed - to dream about spiders ;)

Today really was good, so big thanks to CJ for all her patience. To everyone there, nice to meet you all and especially thanks to Daniel who was so patient with me and a GREAT model. Not sure if we should post our pics here, or start a thread in portraits, but I'll put just one here for now and then wait to see what is decided.

Once again CJ,thank you for being the kind of tutor that you are,i found it very easy to learn from you i feel more confident now in all things photography..
Lets hope we can all get together again..enjoyed it all so much:thankyou:

I think the people who went might just have tempted CJ out of retirement (such was the quality of us all.............) - seems to me she has a few years left in her yet...!

Hey, everyone!

You all are making me blush. If you keep it up, I'll get a big head and then I'lll be impossible to put up with.

I had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed every single person at the workshop -- something that doesn't always happen! Everyone participated and contributed, and we laughed a whole lot of the time. I'm looking forward to seeing you all again. (In Spain, right, Steve?)

I took a long break from teaching workshops because the travel was too frequent and I was getting burned out. Now that I've had a chance to breathe and remember why I love teaching, I'm planning to resume workshops but with much less frequency. (I'd been teaching one every month -- too much!)

Carole, you already know I love that shot of Daniel. Great light -- very well done by both the photographer and the model.

Note to workshop alumni: I'm sure you all made your lists as talked about just before we wrapped up the last day, right? Yes? If not, shame on you and go do it. :)

On the train headed back to London at the moment. I have two days left to play, and I intend to! I made some great drinking buddies last night, so was a tiny bit slow getting up this morning....

Just wanted to add that I've created a thread in the People/Portraits section for the workshop alumnii to share their images. I really do hope to see a lot of them -- don't be shy!

Excellent. I'm hoping to post a few of mine this evening if I get home early enough from work (and assuming any that I took are actually post worthy :))

I've just bought myself a Polaris on ebay for a very sensible price :D

Yeah, pxl8, see what you missed out on? :). Good times were had by ALL. Lol.

Should be an interesting collection of photos then ;)

must admit I was not a little scared
- meeting strangers after a few "internet conversations"
- being in the presence of experts who know far more about photography than me
- do I know enough to even understand what "teech" would be telling us?

upshot
- a very nice bunch of people
- all very happy to compare notes and swap "top tips"
- and ask the questions you wish you'd asked yourself!
- very willing models (at least the 2 I had were) (no that doesn't sound right either)
- CJ put everyone at ease very quickly (well after the first 5 minutes anyway!)
- I learnt a vast amount about light that I just never knew before
- never used a light meter - now actively feeling the need (dear Santa)
- and when we had homework (or rather course work) it all started making even more sense

so a big  from me for CJ
and a big  from me for tP (without whom this just wouldn't have happened for me)

(oh and my agent, mother, producer, co-starts, blah blah blah)

oh and I handled some serious Canon equipment - lustful feelings welling up again!

This sounds like it was great fun. Will be saving the pennies for the next one now that CJ is being tempted out of retirement :)

What are the chances of some written material from the lady in question for those of us on a tighter budget at the moment? I know it's not the same without the hands on experience (;) ooer!) but I'd be happy to fork out for a short and sweet overview of the course material.
