John

Just done some caverns with a 7d2 there was some light there but I had to ramp up the Iso to get hand held shots. As I am still traveling haven't looked them on a big screen

just gone through the fine detail on their site and no electrical items are allowed… rubbish

Why rubbish? There is flammable gas and dust in coal mines, do you want to die in an explosion and fire just to get a photo? Electrical equipment in coal mines has to be intrinsically safe or explosion proof?

There are plenty of slate quarries, metaliferours mines and caves where you can take photos

I have been down there several times, you can take a film cam down that doesn't use a battery, (yes I did ask,) but to be honest you don't get anything very usable.
It's their mine, their rules, you have to abide by them I'm afraid.
Never the less, it's a fantastic experience, for free, and there are plenty of places above ground for photo opportunities.

Thanks Wontolla, Sirch I said rubbish because it could have been an interesting opportunity, strangely I don't fancy dying in explosion but thanks for the response...
