Hi there

no compotition, No prize, not even any recognition, well apart from a massive big thank you from us, but I need some help naming my new house.

Me and the wife have been going over names for our new house and well its just not getting us anywhere.

Bit of background, a few months ago Jen's (my wife) cousin died and left us some money, and she wished that we would put it to good use and get our foot on the property ladder here in Guernsey as it is very difficult to do this as the house prices are well rediculous to say the least, so we decided to combine our money with Jen's mam and dads house sale money and buy a property with a wing for them.
We have just put a bid in for this 3 bed house with a massive 1 bed wing and it is ideal for our needs. You will not believe us if we told you the price.

Ok the naming part has to have some thing to do with Jens cousin in some sort of fashion, as we feel without her help we would not be in the greatful position we are in now. Her name was Christine but we feel naming the house after her is well........ cheesy.
Now Christine loved Holland and Brussels and well most of Europe, so if anyone has any idea's, does not even have to be english, it can mean something in Dutch or whatever. But we just need some help and ideas as to what it could be called with a little sentimentallity in there aswell.

Thanks, looking forward to seeing what you could come up with, and all suggestions are much appriciated.

Thanks again

Spike

Fred, I've always fancied a house called fred, don't know why but it's just one of those names...

Can you imagine a call centre/bank asking for your address and you start with Fred :D :D :D

I've officially lost the plot!

"Edam Thankful"

Edam for the dutch cheese. But a play on words as you a DAMN thankful for the money left to you.

Les pays bas(back).............

do a search on pays bas, my play on words is in brackets.

Aww guys thanks alot, there are some very good thoughtful names there, will show the wife.

Thanks very much, we never thought of anything like this

How about an anagram of her name or something that was special to her? Just google an anagram maker and see what you can come up with!

Sincere - Chrisland
Quirky - Plan B

:agree:

I lived next door to a lovely couple who named their house Edmar, after Eddy & Marlene! was subtle enough to not look cheesy but very recognisable to all those who knew them!

Good luck naming your new home, I hope you will be very happy there :)

Well thanks very much guys but we decided on the name for the house.

Like I said no prizes just a big thank you.

Thanks you Tiler65, we spoke it over and this one just fits the bill very nicely
Its french and in keeping with the Guernsey way, plus its significant to what we wanted without being in your face.

Thanks again to all that put forword some great sugestions and thaks again tiler65

Do not have numbers over here in guernsey, well very very few do if they are a private house that is all have names, as very often all houses are detached. Only really the states housing(uk council houses) have numbers

So no its not pretensious at all, maybe where you live but not over here in Guernsey
