Anybody want to identify this for me, it's very white, very flakey and very sharp. Rockology isn't a strong point of mine.

or it could be quartz
 
If it's gypsum it'll be quite crumbly.

It's not crumbly as such, no. It was a very popular stone to use for rockeries when I was a kid, but not so much now. As I said earlier I bought this lot off Gumtree which was mostly "water worn" Limestone ( apparently you can't buy this commercially anymore in this country) and I only needed the Limestone

They banned ripping up the limestone pavements for rockeries some time ago, these provided the "water worn" limestone. They're a rare and fragile habitat.

I'm thinking some sort of industrial slag with a glassy inclusions for the sharp.
