My Sigma 50mm F1.4 didn't arrive at the shop today as promised, was meant to be a Xmas pressie from the wife - late afternoon she dissapeared out and a little while ago the box below appeared under the tree!

Any ideas what it could be, certainly isn't a 50mm prime, its big and heavy - the other lens I'm looking at getting is a 70-200 Sigma but couldn't find one locally so she's done well if its that :love:

I guess I'll find out in the morning :D

You're a naughty boy ;) I hope it's an empty can of Fosters in a shoe box :D

You would never fit 15 in there, must be a 12 pack?

Guess who's not going to sleep a wink tonight then ...:D:D:D

awww :).
as i said in another thread, i wish i had my list filled with glass and gadgets rather than my girly side kicking in for 'girl's best friend!' drats

Its a brick........er...... shaped monopod!

My missus thinks it's a Mr Potato Head..... hope not for your sake!

The box is a little big for a 70-200 if that Fosters can is normal size. I've just had a look at mine :)

Maybe its a 70-200 VR then :D :D :D

(Hes gonna be so dissapointed when its not a lens at all, haha)

It will be one of those joke pressies where it is a box, containing a box, containing a box, containing a box, containing a note that says IOU 1x Sigma 50mm F1.4

(Hope it is something nice)

Oh dear, no update. Better switch the tv on and watch the news!!!:lol:

On a much happier note, linda finally let me have the Nikon 50mm 1.4g that she briskly took away from me the other week. :woot::woot::woot:

Sorry for the late update, I was like a small kid this morning, opened the mystery box and it was a Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 VR :D:D:D: I'd mentioned it was the lens I really wanted a couple of weeks ago but was a bit too expensive, obviously the wife thought it was worth it!

Not had much chance to play with it yet, its a serious piece of kit! Can't wait to get out tomorrow and take some pics!:love::love:

here she is -

I've got one of these and can guarantee that you'll love it.

The only downside is it's size and weight restrict you from using it as often as you'd like.

Lucky devil :D

+1

If I ever said to my GF I wanted a 1k + lens for Crimbo she would smile nicely and then tell me to **** off.

Least you would get a smile, i would just get told to **** off :bonk:

she certainly surprised me thats for sure, it was only a couple of years ago that a grand was all we had to spend on our family car! :)

Only problem I've got now is I need a new camera bag :lol::lol:

girl's best friend? I daren't ask.
aka diamonds darling
though having said that i'd have rather my 'epitome list' which comprises of-

1 x James May
1 x Brian May (when he was 25, but would still take him as is today!)

or at the very least any attractive nice chap :(
