Name & shame him

Does this bit make any sense to anyone else?

Officers said the jogger ran the other way across the bridge around 15 minutes later and the victim attempted to speak to him, but "he did not acknowledge her".

mr whack job

Apparently this happened in May so why it has reared its head now is unknown.

My own views are that he should be named & shamed and charged with attempted murder as a minimum.
the bus driver deserves a medal too!.

"Attempted murder as a minimum" I don't know what your smoking but I want some, at most this would assault maybe with an element of GBH at most, even if the poor woman had gone under the bus and died I highly doubt a murder charge would stick, it would be manslauter as I doubt you'd prove intent to kill

Is the jogger a arse in the highest order, yes...should he face charges, probably yes...should he be hung drawn and quartered no as that would not be in line with what happened

People jogging with music on are in their own world he may have tripped and put his arm out and inadvertently knocked her but poor show to not stop. If he was found or gave himself up he should probably get a caution. I can't even see an assault charge there to be honest.

Thats a very generous interpretation. It looks like he had a pure fit of temper at someone for no real reason.

Have you watched the vid? I have and to my kind eyes your alternative looks about as likely as Elvis did it. It looks like he, the jogger not Elvis, deliberately pushed her in front of the bus.

In these times of course attempted murder would never be proved and if he's caught no doubt he'll be revealed to be troubled in some way. Probably aspergers.

I'm sure that would be part of his defence in court, but that was no accident.

I'm just using the eyes the police will as all they will view is the video evidence and that is all is see all else is conjecture

You think he should probably face charges
Only for a bit of good fortune, in that the woman didn't fall completely backwards into the road and the quick reactions of the bus drive, she could easily have been killed.
A custodial sentence is warranted here.

I'd be interested to understand why you'd assume that. Is this a symptom?

Save all the effort and expense of a trial

Give the victim a pair of steel toe capped boots and let the jogger roll a dice to decide how many times she can kick him in his crown jewels.....

She can boreow my special dice.... all six sides have six dots.....

Watching the video the impression I get is:-

He ignores the first pedestrian who was walking along the raised area
The woman pedestrian was walking on the main pavement but against the raised kerb
The jogger looked like he made at least a three steps change of direction with no change of pace towards her I.e. no obvious sign of tripping
He reached out and pushed her with both hands apparently without breaking stride.
The act was deliberate and and at the very least was assault

As to why, well once they find the culprit hopefully the truth will come out?

That's not how the legal system works thankfully, we don't generally prosecute and sentence based on what could have happened in the country, we tend to concern ourselfs with what actually happened, the law doesn't pay heed to emotion

Also in only quoting a part of my post it's somewhat loses the actual meaning of my whole post

The papers says GBH but it will actually be attempt GBH because her injuries are too minor for GBH. There is also two seperate charges for GBH with intent and without. If it is with intenet that is very serious.

It will depend upon what he says when questiond as GBH requires a mens rea (guilty mind) in order to secure a conviction. There are a lot of defences that could be put forward it depends on if ploddy can do a good interview. :police:

I doubt it would get dropped due to it being in the public arena.

Of course they released him pending investigations. There is little evidence to remand him in custody.

Runners seem to me to look skinny and haggard and always miserable.
Except Jonathan of course. He always looks suave and sophisticated, even in his avatar picture.

The man arrested over the “jogger rage” attack on Putney Bridge is a partner at a Mayfair-based private equity firm, the Standard can reveal.
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/cri...-private-equity-firm-in-mayfair-a3609486.html

Eric Bellquist, 50, was detained by detectives on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after a woman was pushed in front of an oncoming bus. However, he has denied being the jogger and says he was in the United States at the time of the incident.

Well, if he was, that will be easily proven. I think President Trump has to personally sign you in these days

Trump jokes(?) aside surely Border Force records check can prove his alibi very quickly?

There'll be a dated stamp in his passport, and CBP will have his passport details, photo and fingerprints from the point on entry.

One would hope that has already been done?
(I guess that's what's called playing your Trump card? Sorry :coat: )

What is intriguing is that it seems 'no one seems to know him..........or has suggestions of his identity' (other than the man mentioned above).

For the sake of others safety I hope they find him soon?

Kinda undermines the 'name and shame him' call when they get the wrong man, doesn't it?

So this guy (Eric Bellquist) has been released having proved he was in the USA.

Unbelievable 'own goal' by the police/media for releasing/leaking this info without checking basic facts.

I imagine a lawer or two are 'sniffing blood' ?
