Can anyone help identify an object I found in a box with other developing equipment. There was also a number of Nikon items (lens caps and the like) and two very old electrical chargers with Rollei Singapore on them. Anyway, I've attached a few photos. The metal bit at the top is a sort of plunger, the screw on the side holds it at whatever height you choose, the two metal cylindrical screws at the bottom have about 2-3 inches of thread.

Any thoughts?View attachment 39422View attachment 39423View attachment 39424View attachment 39425

Looks like a dual cable release to me, nothing more than an unsubstantiated guess though...

I'd guess it's for moving two Bowden cables at once

Canon sold a dual cable release to use with the auto-bellows for macro photography: the second cable engages the aperture stop- down mechanism in the lens.

I know those words! Not sure I understood them in that order! I'm just off to google!

Just when you think you're getting the hang of this photography lark you realise you are barely skimming the surface! Thanks for the comments.

Blooming marvellous F&C is. Produced the word of the month for me: Doppeldrahtauslöser! It's already an ear-worm...

BTW, difficult to tell with it so small, but is that Serle Street at Lincoln's Inn in your avatar - looking down toward the Royal Courts of Justice?

Good spot. I took it with a digital I'm afraid (before I got into film). I had a Canon 1200D for Christmas so I have feet in both camps though I do reach for a film camera first more and more.

I knew that! ... Late to the party... And the Nikon equivalent is still in production.... AR7 - used with a PB6 or 5.

Looks very rare, I'll sell it for a fortune and retire. I knew my ship would come in eventually! [emoji12]
