Been doing some work on me website finally :) http://www.scham.be

Critics and suggestions needed.
I know more/better piccies are needed but what ya reakon?????


Oh and if anyone wants to link or have their site linked on mine give us a shout.
I'll promote any photo sites, webring stylee :thumbs:

EDIT: ignore the other content for now (writings) i'll do that tomorrow, infastructure was set in place now.

Loose the adverts.
also why would anyone want to donate monies to you? Found that bit slightly odd for a personal site!!!
Otherwise clean and tidy.
 
averts are going to be promoting good causes only, hopefully soon.

Donate is hopefully going to do the same.
Why would it be odd anyhow? i could have allowed people to use my pics if they donate. well or somat anyhow.

CC...IMHO

The tool bar type is a bit conflicting ie hard to read the gallery/bio etc..
Try changin colour typeface....HTH

The images on the gallery page are far too pixelated - makes it seem all your photos will look like that!
 
No reason not to have a donate button, but you'll probably find nobody will bother donating, especially with £20 being the default figure.

You might also want to run it through the w3c validator, as there are a number of errors on the site at the mo.

Yeah its not all running properly yet, just the basics in place.
And the i'll polish all the code up at the end after i've made all the tweaks .

Hi Brummie,

It might be an Idea to have one of your favourite images on the home page, to make people want to look at the rest of your images, at the moment its a bit plain. (IMO)

You may also want to make the text i.e "Animals" a bit larger and a link to the gallery as well as the picture, because when selecting the image I wasn't sure if I would get the gallery or just a larger image of the picture selected.

Donate? As someone said above; Why? Are you just begging? Strange thing to have on a blog. You say people can post images on there if they donate? Nice spirit you have set up there ;)

My advice: Just have a blog and show us you're photos. Don't ask people for money for no reason.

Just my 2p btw, no offence meant.
 
A linux penguin is like my mascot. As much as me as my nickname on forums.

Donate was going to be for charity and/or good cause.
Its not a blog, just a collection of some of my work.
Only my work will be on there but 'ill happily promote others websites if they so wish it. So no donating for a little part of my webspace, its too precious :D

So just to clear it up; why would anyone want to give you money? Sorry if I'm keeping on but it's baffling me! ;[
 
I dont know, maybe we should ask them. :)

TBH i think its a case of why wouldnt they.
It would all go to charity when it gets set up properly.
Banners would be to promote charity i hope soon too.

I know it says otherwise at the moment but as previously mentioned
the site isnt set up properly yet and has the basics in place including the
default writings of the maniacs that write the CMS's :D

Why is everyone so concerned that there is a donate button? you don't HAVE to click it.

Indeed. He's explained it further up. For when people want to use his prints. OK He could explain that properly when the website is finished, but that's by the by.


Anyway.....back on topic...I just had a very quick flick through (Turkey is due out of the oven), and I like the design, the colours etc. It's quite easy on the eye. Easy to navigate. Isn't garish, and is snappy to browse. Those things define a website for me. Get those wrong and I don't go back..
You though, have them right :thumbs:

Thx to everyone for their contribution so far.
Made some changes and removed the offensive advertsing and donate button. ;)
Also trimmed down other non essential items, just some bits and bobs to tidy up and change but i'm quite happy so far, apart from the content.
What you reakon?
