Not sure if this is the right section or not, apologies if I should have posted it elsewhere.

I've put a website together as an online portfolio, partially to give myself more motivation to take shots and improve my skills and technique if the shots are available to see in the public eye.

Any thoughts / comments would be gratefully received.

Interesting layout, in places the copy is weak and there are probably too many missed-focus shots in the gallery at the moment (the wasp head, lizard face, etc.) and awkward poses (bride being stabbed in the head with hair implement!, too obviously pop-up flash shot of wedding ring) - but it's certainly something to build on, and you can substitute in better shots as you go.

Copy is deliberately weak in places, as I don't really want it to index very highly until I've sorted out the issues with the portfolio, so a lot of the text areas I've just thrown in as placeholders and will build on it as I get happier with the content of the galleries. As you say, my plan is to swap out weaker shots as I take better ones. There are some shots I'm really happy with, and others, like the ones you've identified, that I know need swapped out ASAP.

Good to know that the places where I can see it falls down, match up to at least one other persons view of it though! At least I know which bits need work first.

I think what I will do, if there's no real hatred of the layout or navigation, is remove the links to the galleries I'm not happy with later this weekend, until I've updated them with better pictures. I just thought it'd be good to get feedback early on, in case the general view was that it'd never work and I needed to start again :)

Thanks for the input :)
