My two camera set up. Ideas for lenses welcome.

I agree its a great lens, and I also know you can pick them up much cheaper second hand. What I'm really trying to say is that the FX lens offers much more future proofing then the DX one, especially for whats likely to be a long term purchase.

Cheers

What complete and utter nonsense!

I agree with Andy ( doesn't happen that often  ) and it's not nonsense IMHO.

The D300 produces VERY different images to the D700/D3 I've even noticed some strange pixelation in images on a D300. I took one bridal portrait at a wedding, and you can clearly see the iris of her eye, and the viens in her eye are very digital and pixelated. It's difficult to describe but it's there. I took the same photo with my D3 and the pixelation isn't there.

As soon as the D700 came out I sold my D300 and bought one of those. There's just no comparison between them.

I carry my D3 with 24-70, and my D700 with the 85 1.4 at weddings. I have just got myself a 50/1.4 and may use that as well as the 85 for the portraits but 85% of a wedding is shot with the 24-70.
