Hey my name is Jordan I'm new to photography, and I've always enjoyed taking photos. I think the appeal for me to some extent is that through photographs you can make something, that the average Joe wouldn't look twice at, and make it look intersting.

I'm 16 and been taking photos for a month or two now, I would appreciate it if some of you could take a look at my work and give me pointers, or criticism.
If you're in a good mood you can even compliment me

These are some photos I've taken over the past few months.

Thanks guys.

Hi and welcome to TP and to the end of any spare cash

Some good photos and interesting shots, I hope you continue with it and your passion grows.

Welcome, and some very interesting work on your photostream :)

hi jordan, welcom to TP im 15 and know what it feels like, its awesome. when your the only photographer at school you feel special, but you get cash and spend on a tripod, then a camera bag, then a better tripod then your camera bags not big enough and so on. hope you have a savings account lol:thumbs:

Thanks guys I appreciate the encouragement, I'll continue to take photos and hope that I can become better at it. As someone said it will probably result in me buying camera after camera and multiple tripods. Thanks again.

And just what do you think you two were doing up that late??? Just wait until your mothers find out................

Oh also does anyone know how to rearrange the order of your photographs on flickr? The first one in my set has the most view but I don't think it's the best so I want to change it.

Cheers.

Aye, nice photostream. Showing some real promise for only a month or two taking photos. It'll be interesting to see how you progress.

Hi mate, nice photos on your Flickr and I'm also 16 and as mastertrinity said, I know what it feels like, when you're the only person at school etc with a camera and you get mixed responses off your mates - some think its cool that you get cracking photos etc, and others think your a weirdo.
But tbh, I live with it, doesn't bother me atall any more!

Keep at it mate,

Dion!

Yeah thanks mate, appreciate that. I know what you mean, I have friends who think my stuff is cool, but others who I wouldn't show my stuff to because they would question 'why do you just take photos of stuff' but I enjoy it so I'll keep doing it.

Thanks again.

Hey and welcome! Im new here too.

Interesting shots you have taken there, but on one shot in particular I would like to comment. On your aging fence I think you should have focused more on the screw head and let the background drift into the blur. I believe this would have made the shot more interesting but maybe some of you would dissagree. Afterall, what do I know? I am an amateur like yourself :)

When I first started out it took me some time to understand it all, but you will notice how your photography can drastically improve once you fully understand how your camera works. I have so many friends with decent DSLR's who use them on auto, which completely takes the fun out of it!

I completely agree about the comment you made on the fence, thing is I'm using a fujifilm camera that was first released in 2003 and it actually can't focus on stuff that close even in macro mode. I would have done it like you suggested if possible.

Some good stuff on there. I particularly like the sand paper shot. Something different.

Keep at it. Sometimes things don't work, but step back, evaluate and try again. Sounds like you are having fun, and thats the most important thing.

There is a post on here somewhere to tell you how to put a FLICKR link in to your signature, like mine below. Might be worth looking at.

Thanks I appreciate that, the sandpapershot was random but I like it, I will probably look into putting a flickr link in my sig.
