No
So, I was using a trigger in the hot shoe when the flash on my D90 decided to try and pop up. The problem is, that it will not shut, whether the camera is turned on or off. I've had a look and everything 'appears' to be intact spring wise, but I have no idea what the issue is. I'm fearing I'll have to return it under warranty, which leads me to another question. Does anyone know if Jessops will lend me a body until I get mine back, if it has to be returned?

Do you mean it won't fold back down, or it won't stay down?

Is the little button on the side stuck? There should be a little clasp which holds the flash head down, I'd make sure that there isn't something broken off (on both the body of the camera and the pop up head) or that one of them is stuck in the wrong position.

As for Jessops lending you a camera, I very much doubt it.

bad luck
is there a button to press...and does it go down and pop back up or jammed open
both sound like a fix is required by a tech
good luck with it
regarding jessops...i would not be afraid of asking...you never know

The little button that clamps it down is still intact, I can hear it when it clips on, but the flash just pops up every time. When I use the flash settings on the body (rear sync, red-eye etc), there's no longer an option to have no flash.

Quick question - what mode are you shooting in, and where are you shooting?

Do you mean that the flash pops open every time you press the shutter, or that it wont stay shut?

It won't stay shut, as in, it's constantly up regardless of how I shoot.

operating button stuck in release position or
holding catch not engaging..same thing really

my guess

It appears to be a catch issue, as you look down with the camera body facing forward I think it's the off to the right right about 1 cm in from the front. It should slide to the right as you look at it. With the flash open (not that you can close it:nuts:) press the flash release button and it should move to the right. If not then it's a mechanical issue with the flash release.

Jessops do not hold loan stock

Nothing moves, I can hear it clicking but no movement. It's annoying, I can tape it down as I rarely use it, but can't afford to be without the body when it comes to sending it back.

I had one customer who had this and becase he rearly used it he just put a small amount of blue tack in side and closed it so as to not spoil the looks!

The tape adhesive will gunge up would a lacky band or a Velcro wrap be an alternative temp fix.

I missed this, thanks for the link, will check it out later!
