My pet hate has to be.....

It's almost impossible to tow a car behind a motorhome legally, because any trailer that has brakes (whether required due to the trailer mass or not) must have the brakes fully functional where fitted, even if the trailer is under 750kg.

So based on this, are you saying that the major recovery firms, who use a similar method of towing, are also breaking the law?

I'd imagine they meant perfect for towing behind a motorhome - which leads me onto my next pet hate - people who tow smart cars, altos, etc behind dirty great motor homes - none of them seem conversant with how to reverse with a tow and wind up jacknifed and helpless

the way in which the ad was worded would lead me to believe they meant as a car to tow a caravan with

No, because there is an exemption for recovering a broken down vehicle.

Abbreviating photographer to 'tog'. I know it's a silly thing to have as a pet hate (although by definition pet hates are generally silly) but it just winds me up! :p

Please don't forget the puke-inducing "nifty fifty"!

Not just me then!

*makes note to abbreviate to "phot" in future*

Exactly, there is different legislation down to insurance and VED rates for recovery vehicles which rescue a broken down vehicle as opposed to transporting one vehicle with another from A to B

Pet driving hates

Impatient drivers despite travelling at the maximum speed limit permitted eg if I drive at 40mph in a 40mph zone why do you have a problem with this?

Drivers who refuse to give way when there is an obstruction on their side of the road and drive head on at oncoming traffic which has right of way - and get abusive as well

Incorrect use of headlamp flashing. There is an official use of flashing headlamps, but I have encountered several different meanings, apparently a driving instructress advising me of horse and rider ahead

Horses on footpaths.

The clue's in the name of that particular class of right-of-way. If you want to ride your horse/pony/donkey off the road, look for the aptly named Bridleway system where you shouldn't meet any motorised vehicles. If you do isist on riding said ***** machines on footpaths, be prepared for overreactions from pedestrians similar to the way you're likely to react to a 4x4 on a bridleway and remember that your mode of transport is less likely to behave well than that 4x4 is...

Shouldn't it be called a Hoofpath? :) A bridle way would indicate them being upside down (if we were to use the same logic as footpath (which should be called shoepath but now its getting silly))

Forced to watch adverts for other movies you cant skip before the title film can be watched on recent DVD and Blu-ray:nono:

Seconded. Especially annoying when its not a rental and you've actually paid to own the bladdy thing.

People who spell lose as loose. I dont know why but I always think they must be retarded. Just because you cant spell doesn't mean you're thick does it.

If they arrived at the obstruction first and way was clear they have right of way....

Warning of a random hazard in your ongoing route is a correct use of flashing headlights, hc may say to use only to alert of your presence but police, highways agency etc also suggest a slightly wider remit.

i was reading an ad for a suzuki alto the other day, written by a trader. they listed it as "a perfect towing car"! for towing what? a skateboard?

Think that meant to mean car for being towed as it fits nicely on most a frames, same car as our pixo lol.
