Well after not really using my SLR for 6months or posting much on here, I have decided I need a personal challenge to keep me going.

So this is my rule:
Take at lest 1 photo a week that is thought out and challenging!

So the first week went well :) and resulted in 2 photos mostly because the first one wasn't the challenge I though it might be.

So here they are

You could always join the 52 week - has a theme to um direct your thought out pictures... :)

#1
Cool - nice colours and I think its coloured glass with bubbles in

#2
Nice watching you - the eye appears soft (to me)
Keep an eye on the backgrounds - you can post process this one to dull down or take the colour out of the background. also check the doggy collars metal label. Its a bit bright on the end of the whiskers. Which I first thought was doggy slobber... :D

Overall very nice shots.... will look forward to seeing more from you.

Hi thanks for the comments I did the 52 a couple of years ago and I intend to use some of the themes if I run out of inspiration I just don't want to be restricted by them :)

I know what your saying about backgrounds and I said on flickr that it was a pain the dog would only pose nicely in the wrong direction :(

ruth...never work with animals or children...but i say 'never say never' ... the bakcground is blurred out do the pooch stands out...and the expression.... how can anyone fail to love that expression

The challenge this week was getting the picture of the Cherry while the others were picking them from the tree and with time constraints. Plus although I knew I wanted a picture of Cherry I had to decide on the actual picture while looking at the tree. This is the One that came out as I wanted it to.

So here it is:)

Ok so I haven't forgotten this thread or my challenge I am just way behind with my editing. In an effort to catch up here are the pictures from the weekend of the 9th July.

This was my weekly Challenge Picture, we arrived in France and I saw this sculpture, I knew it would be hard to get the lighting right and the bird in shot without the surrounding trees. It wasn't the best exposed of all the pictures I took but it was the best overall imo :)

And as a bonus I took 2 pictures this week

This week got a bonus picture as I saw this bug on the plant after taking my weekly picture and decided I just had to get a picture of it. I know the focus point is not 100% on the eyes but it was handheld and late in the day. So for a first real attempt at bug photography I'm pleased with it.

Feel free to leave any C&C or points to work on :)

For the week of the 16th/17th I wanted a Sunflower. We were in the Dordogne and they were everywhere, Not as easy as I thought they would be to photograph though.

Here's my fave

Thanks for looking

We went to the Eagle Hights Raptor Centre, So the challenge for the week 23rd / 24th was easy, a photo a bird of pray. Well the background leaves something to be desired but you can't have everything.

i know..my experience of them is they have a habit of turning away from you when they see the camera... little blighters really..

love all your photos Ruth. especially your cherry, nice DOF

Well this weekends Challenge was another easy one, I was Orbing and I wanted a picture of the Orb. Although I have some of the whole orbs, I liked this one because it's not just a straight forward picture of an orb.
