My Next Big Adventure

First of all I would like to thank all those that contributed and gave me advice for my trip to Barcelona and Venice in May this year, the trip was my first venture abroad and was truly a wonderful and enlightening experience.

My next big adventure now the travel bug has bitten will be San Francisco and New York next summer so I am looking for advice on thins to do and places to photograph. I have lined up many of the usual suspects below but I am sure there are many more


San Francisco:

Alcatraz

Golden Gate Bridge (on bike)

San Francisco Zoo

Whale Watching

Fisherman's Wharf

Golden Gate Park

San Francisco


New York:


Ground Zero

Grand Central Station

Empire State Building

Central Park

Coney Island

From your SF list....I'd avoid the zoo, it's a poor one IMO.
Whale watching...drive south to Monterey Bay and go from there. The bay is a call in for many species on their migrations. If you go from SF, you may have to go half way to the Farallons to see much.

Try to visit The Cliff House and Sutro Baths. Some stunning views, and if you walk around the headland, some great views of GG bridge from the ocean side rather than bay side.

Cross the bridge and view the city from the Marin Headlands. Stunning views, even when fog shrouds the city

Go up to Twin Peaks in the evening. Panoramic city views from the ocean to Alameda and over to Sausalito.

There's so much more.

Edit...
In Golden Gate Park, visit the Japanese Tea Gardens, and the CAS; also across the GGB there are some excellent restaurants in Sausalito. Good local craft beers too.
