My New Website

Hi There,

am not keen on what felt a large buffering download for 7mb adsl for the homepage pics, feels to long, i personally prefer (on togs sites) a nice big wow factor, and the delay really affected that.

the client area text is appearing outside your frame on the client area page - example here - http://img20.imageshack.us/i/screenshot20110403at200.png/

In fact that text problem also happens on the about me page, contact, pricing pages as well.

(if its any difference to anyone im looking at it thru latest version of firefox on the mac at the mo. (same problem is happening in mac safari as well) - interestingly mac chrome is working fine.

on the contact page you could make your email a hyperlink so people can click it to send mail rather than having to copy and paste (or remember it if they do not know to).

A proper contact form would be a lot nicer imo.

On the Client area, Services & Pricing, Contact Me & About Me pages the black border on the left cuts through the first or second letter of the text (both in Firefox & IE8). It might just be my laptop but I've tried different screensizes and it still happens.
Nice slide show on the front page - perhaps mix the pics up a bit more? (I noticed the guy without a shirt and the baby appeared quite a few times). D'you have any pet pics or outdoor shots you could build into the slideshow just for variety?

A nice clean looking site which is easy to navigate. Will people prefer to see your prices online or download the pdf?

Good luck with the business

Like someone else said, the buffering is a touch annoying for what otherwise looks like a very simple site - unnecessarily complicated imo. A simpler and faster HTML based slideshow would be much better.

Again on Chrome I also get the positioning problem.

text in relation to the border is working ok on mac firefox and safari now.

Where did that gray background come from, was there before?

Under 'Services & Pricing' you list Weddings, - but they're not mentioned in your pricing pdf?

I don't like the large amount of Grey area each side, maybe make your webpage a bit wider? With possibly a photo for a background?

I think you should have a bit more variety in your slideshow, they are good pictures if all you are offering is children/baby/pets, but as you also offer Weddings and Event Photography, you might want to include some more related pictures, especially on your services page. I personally wouldn't hire a photographer unless I had seen examples of their work specific to what I wanted.

Whichever service you do most, or you are most interested in, you might want to add another page specifically about some of your services, giving far more information about the shoots, and what kind of services you offer etc. You have more info in the pdf, but you might want to include more of that, and more of a description, on your site itself.

The website is ok, but you might want to include more images outside of the slide show

A few pointers from me.

1. That slow buffer is a pain. I almost gave up after about 5 seconds and closed the site (and i am on a 40mb connection)

2. Make your logo on each page click back to the home page, i dont no why but its always the done thing.

3. Fix any code errors untill is gets a pass in http://validator.w3.org this should help with multi browser users. Currently showing 11 errors in the code.

4.SEO, Google is not likely to rank you very high with so little text mainly on your homepage. Also Meta tag each site with unique tags.

5. Some of the images on the main page are a little soft... is this a problem in processing or are the images soft?

6. Content. As i said above on SEO you have very little text. This is not only bad for SEO but also for viewers. People who visit your site want info, they want to know what you do, where you do it and what it costs. Go into a little more detail.

on your servicing and pricing page is says Download Our Lastest Services & Pricelist.... I think might mean latest :)

What's the point of the "enter site" page? Just seems like an obstacle to me...

Once you get into the site (which, btw opens in a new tab from the splash page, another annoyance IMO), the images loaded fairly quickly.

I'd move the menu from the bottom to the top - If people are browsing on a smaller monitor, then they might not see the navigation straight off, and leave in frustration.

I think you need a much larger set of images than you currently have, split down into specific categories, as I don't think there's enough content, image wise, on there to give people the confidence to book you.

Also, you should have a contact form on your contact page, as well as the additional contacts. Some people would rather just fill out a form and have it delivered to you, rather than having to start their email program, cut and paste your email address etc.

Overall, I like the cleanliness of the site and design, just think it needs some more content to fill it
