I've been off work sick for quite a few weeks now and I'm bored senseless. This boredom has awoken my inner geek and I've set about building a website. I've played with HTML before and dabbled briefly with PHP when I customised a phpBB forum I ran years ago. Apart from that Google has been my friend. I doubt many of my solutions are efficient but I'm just chuffed they work...or seem to.

The site itself is just a non-commercial web presence but I'm quite pleased with the results, even if it's a little old fashioned.

Anyway, here it is: www.onetenimages.co.uk

Thanks for looking

Very nice Richard. Like the simplicity of the design & the colour scheme throughout. The banner image look slightly smaller on the blog pages, I'm guessing that's because of the scroll bar. Pity the scroll bar couldn't be the same colour scheme as the rest of the site.

Looks brilliant, nicely laid out and easy to use

Only issue I found (browsing on iPad) is that the contact page content extends over the pictures on the side

Thanks.

I think I need to find a stand alone PHP contact form. There's not a lot I can do with this version. The Kontactr logo also niggles me a bit.

Very nice indeed. Always wanted to learn about website building, did an intro course on Dreamweaver years ago, ahh...never got the time to continue with it......:cuckoo:

All the best, hope you are well now. Cheers.

Thanks. I used Dreamweaver for the basic build and for editing the templates from Galllery2 and Wordpress. It's quite intuitive for what I'm doing, anything else is beyond me but as I said earlier I just Google what I don't know and there's so many tutorial pages out there I soon find something that helps.

Another trip to the hospital today...joy!

Richard, if you PM me your email address, I've got a nice jquery contact form that might be handy for you :)

Like the website a lot, the colours set the photos off nicely... Only slight niggle is the blog, I don't like the scrollbar within the page, but not a lot you can do about that without completely redesigning the site I guess - It wouldn't put me off reading it mind.

Cheers Matt, PM on it's way. Yes I agree about the blog and it's more than a niggle with me. I thought I'd try it a see.

good work richard... very easy on the eye and a damn fine range of images.
i almost started panicking though on your links page... i thought for a split second that you'd not put a link into TP!! :gag:

Cheers Leigh, yes it's there...maybe it should be at the top.

Very easy to navigate and pleasing to view. Not overburdened with text and the photographs are displayed very nicely.

I really like it Richard, and some great shots in your gallery.
Have you considered using a 'lightbox' script for each of your galleries? I like the 'web2.0' look-and-feel of a lightbox, and more importantly it stops the user from having to navigate away from the gallery thumbnails page. Just a thought.

Nice and easy layout...Not sure if you seen this on firefox but left side feels bit empty on firefox. May be some ideas to fill it with or reduce this size of empty rectangle to give a feeling of nice border.

Just my thought anyway.

Nicely done Richard.

It looks similar to a standard iWeb layout but much better.

Ease of navigation and all pleasant on the eye, good stuff.

Works very well for me as well Rich. Simple and effective and as expected some top images. Like it.

I'll take a look, thanks.

I'll check, thank you, I'll also download Opera and Chrome. I hadn't expected the differences to be so big.

Many thanks for taking the time to look

Thats a really clean site - well done.... only thing I would say is if your doing a blog get some thing that agregates RSS ( eg blogger which will publish to your own web site ) and connect that to twitter / facebook via RSS grafiti...

Terran

PS Love the Blackpool wheel.... I'd have done some thing like that if I was not in a car..... and I saw plenty of others doing the same too.... funny as its not really the main attraction....
