At the end of november I was on the M6, a skip wagon hit the back of the truck in front and rolled back into my van, that one's just been sorted out.

Just been out in the car, stopped in a queue of traffic then BANG, the car behind me stopped, the one behind her didn't, hit her then shoved her into me, the damage isn't too bad just some scratches on the bumper and some broken clips.

it's been an hour now and i'm feeling a bit sick and my neck is stiff, they say things happen in threes so if you don't hear from me again the next one is the big one

Eeek! Hope you are ok Darren. Just to check - you are not alone are you?

Geez mate hope you are ok..........more to the point please dont say its the big cat thats damaged

Pete

It wasn't that hard a shunt and no it wasn't the jag thankfully, the girl that was behind me said the guy that hit her was on the phone :bat:

Thanks for the concern but i'm not alone, I don't think it's that bad just a bit stiff

All the same Darren go get it checked out mate it could be whiplash no matter how soft the shunt:thumbs:

Whiplash can be a pain in the neck :coat:

I got hit in a traffic queue many years ago, the compensation paid for a ski trip & a new Hi Fi :D

But it still didn't compensate for the year of pain :(

Please do go and get your neck checked out.

I was hit twice this year too, once in Nov and again in Jan. Just had the engineer back out to the car again today.

I did end up with whiplash and it's really not nice. I went straight to see our local chiropractor and just coming out of nearly three months of treatment. It has cost me £300 which I now need to try to recover from the idiots who hit me but being out of pocket for a while is well worth it to make sure my neck is OK long term.

It's the long term you really need to take care with.

hope you are ok as the others said please go get your neck checked out

I would reiterate what has been said - get it checked out. Happened to a friend of mine and took a lot of treatment to recover.

On a lighter note - why do you need to change your name to "Crash Magnet"?
I would say you are aptly named Wack :bonk:

Hope you feel better soon.

Ken

Well it looks like it's going to be a straightforward claim, the guy who pushed the girl into me :naughty: has just rung with a claim reference, my insurance have said I don't have to pay the excess so hopefully it'll be that simple :)

If my neck is still aching in the morning i'll get it checked out but from what I read there isn't much that can be done to fix it if it is whiplash

Actually now I come to think about it this is my third since 2007, the first was when a car turned left from the right hand lane and drove into me , perhaps "wack" was a sign when I chose it :D

finally someone who has had more accidents than me !

unlucky :(

i refuse to comment on my years of driving and number of incidents as i am driving home tomorrow. I refuse to tempt anything. haha

fair play to the guy for getting in contact to sort it.

as you said, wouldnt have thought much could be done with whiplash, as it will be a muscle strain isnt it?

maybe heat pads and gentle exercises?

Hope it improves :)

Sorry to hear about your bad luck mate.... hope it all gets sorted soon. as for your neck, its best to get it checked out, hopefull nothing to serious.

Same sort of thing happend to me, i dint go to get checked until two days later, and thats when i found out, i very slightly fractured the top of my spine!!!

like the others are saying, go get it checked. My mother now has a permanently sore shoulder because of a situation almost identical to this. As I'm sure most of you will know, a 450D with a Sigma 10-20 on it isn't exactly very heavy - but it's enough to hurt her shoulder. Don't let it get to that...

You've hear ti before, now hear it first hand

Get it checked out.

I had a side impact a few years ago - not high speed, more a lane priority shunt. I was a bit achey for a couple of weeks then it passed. Untill I started lugging heavy lenses about then exactly the same aches returned.
