Hi all

Have today found out that my mugshot is in this months edition of '442' magazine. The shot was taken at a football match, probably about 8 years ago. At the time, there was no model release signed.

Question is, do I have a right to complain to the magazine about this?

Probably not. There will have been most likely T&C's of your entry to the football ground (especially if its a Premiership ground / one ruled by the FA), that you consent to your image possibly being taken.

Also, if its for editorial use, then they can use it.

Contrary to popular belief, you don't actually need a model release in *this* country.

Does the editorial associated with the image damage or mis-represent you in some way? eg, a caption say here's a convicted criminal or this bloke likes to buy Heinz Ketchup.

Unless printing the photo has caused you significant loss or harm to your reputation for some reason then about the best you can expect would be a letter saying sorry.

I'm holding a florescent yellow banner, that has a Charlton badge and the words "Told you we wouldn't need viagra to get up", so yes, it is causing me damage!!! ;-)

thats your own fault if you ve got a banner with charlton on it !

But that's you're own fault

I think that when you purchase a ticket or enter a football ground, part of the terms and conditions are that you agree to be photographed and may appear in print or on television!

Charlton has/ had supporters?

What worries me is that I know 2 Charlton supporters, many more and it will be an epidemic!

Compensation nation or what? Forget about it. At least you can say you are in print...

Not after compensation... I'm not a northerner ;)

I really didnt want to be in print!!

As for you Charlton abusers, come on, let's here who you support... and please, let one of them be Crippled Palarse!

But you did want to be looked at at the time, otherwise why go to the trouble of making a sign and then taking it into the ground.

Moral of the story, if you don't want photos of you looking like a pillock printed in the press, don't act like a pillock anywhere where there is a chance you could be photographed.

in the public arena your fair game I'm afraid! But with a sign like that your asking for it really ;)
