Canon 1Ds Mk III. Boxed, unmarked, absolutely mint. £1610.00 cash.
Didn't expect to see that.

Question is, where did it come from. Not normal place a tog would sell it...

Is it boxed with all the normal bits, manual etc?

Yep. It all seems to be there.

Could be legit then, someone desperate for cash?

If it was just the camera I would be VERY suspicious.

Don't ever pay with a credit card in Cash Convertors.

They treat such a purchase as a cash advance and you get hit with the subsequent charges, as my son found out when he bought a Kindle from them.

I'm pretty sure that can't be right and would be deemed as wrong in some way if you went to trading standards.

That is incorrect in my experience, I paid on my CC for a friend who bought a laptop from them, (for Sec 75 protection).

It was processed like a normal transaction.

Maybe your son drew the cash from an ATM in the shop? Or did some sort of payday advance type scheme for the money (if that's possible)?

As Faddius says, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't even be legal to process a purchase of goods as a cash advance.

A payday advance type thing might be plausible, with them using the CC details as security.
