Yes
maybe a waste of a thread but im stuck in a hotel bored so here goes

ok so at the moment i have a d90 with these lenses

AFS 18-55DX (kit lens)
50mm f1.8
sigma 70-200 f2.8

heres my thought.get rid of the 18-55 and then get a sigma 10-20 and a tamron 28-75.

so i would have

10-20
28-75
70-200

would this be wise or could i cover the focal range with better lenses for the same value, cant afford the stunning Nikon equivalents?

just looking for a few opinions before i splash out

thanks as always

although the Sigma 10-20 is a fine lens (used to own one myself), if I was to go back down the superwide route again i'd get the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 over the Sigma.

is that because of IQ and the lower aperture? not looked at the tokina. the 10-20 just jumps out as the normal path

thanks

the Tokina is touted as the sharpest superwide around (although I can only take others words for that)

Have a check at the pics in the flickr link (or the tokina link) in my siggy.

I like the 11-16 - minor distortion on the crop sensor around the edges, but not a fish eye.

very wide and sharp.seems the tokina is a good lens then. how does the af and build quality compare to others in this range?

thanks
