Daily My late start 366 - BobBCN

Day 168 & 169 Scalextric Light Trails

Thought I'd try some scaled-down light trails ...the lights are wired to the motor so the faster you go the more they shine, bit like the old (pedal like mad or you get knocked down) bicycle lights! In #2 you can clearly see the moment of acceleration down the straight - almost too clearly perhaps.

And following, two versions of the 'perpetrator' (Not often you get to see the car that actually produced the photo )

Aww Bob I love the light trails they're a brilliant idea  but how about light painting the track a little too so as to add a little ambient light on the landscape  in the same way that if I went out light trailing I like to do it when there is still colour in the sky so I'd like to see a little bit of the track/landscape in there

See what you mean Matt. One evening soon I'm planning on going to the club where the big tracks are! expect to see more light trails and some track detail!

Cheers

Day 177 - Precarious!

Been walking past this for a number of months so I decided to take a pic before the demolition work is completed (or before it falls down).

I think I'm ok until Thursday 28th!!
On the sunsets, I just checked back on the exif to make sure and yes I had upped the contrast/saturation levels in camera to really bring out the colours.

Cheers

Day 181 - Spotted!

Out and about on a rainy morning, I spotted this window (seemed to be an abandoned house, rusty railings, dirty panes etc), then I spotted the cat licking its paw, which in turn spotted me ......

Thought it suited a tight crop and a vintage photo treatment .....

Day 182 - Traffic Light Reflection

As per title and cropped.

Maybe I should have focussed on the pavement rather than the traffic light!!!

Day 183 - An Important Day

Well, my Maths O Level says we're at the halfway point in the 366!!! So, an important day indeed.

It's also the Euro 2012 Final!!!!

Here's a shot from the front page of today's BCN paper. It's in Catalan and means 'Appointment with History' more or less. Big day for Spanish football but here in Catalonia it's not such a big deal, even if half the national team are Barcelona players.

On a technical note: I cropped and then sharpened. The 'shadow effect' on the white letters looks a lot better and seems to stand out more than on the actual newspaper.

Wonder why that is?

Cheers

In case you doubt who I'm supporting!!!!

Day 184 - Local History

In the days when the textile industry was booming here in Sabadell lots of factories had their own water supply in the form of these huge towers. You still see them dotted around but I imagine they're empty now.

Spotted this one whilst parking, so decided to shoot the reflection in the wing mirror. Obviously the image has been flipped over, otherwise the writing would be back to front!!

Seems a fitting image for today then ....

I'll be in the UK over the coming few weeks, so I may need to catch up on my postings, pending internet availability. But I have some ND filters and Macro Tubes waiting for me! Needless to say, I'll be taking a tripod ......

Day 196 - Starting out with the macro rings!

Finally started to get my head round the macro rings. Obviously with the end of the lens so close to the subject, light/shadows etc start to play a part.

So just the one to start with ......... as this is my first post with a true macro image. Definitely more to follow as it has opened up a whole new dimension in my photography.
