My iPhone got stolen :(

*virtual hug*

That's really crap! How did that happen?

Thanks *hug*

Well I was a right thicko, I went to work, got out of the car went into the office next minute you know there's no phone in my bag :/

So we rang it a few times looked for it everywhere and some dude picked it up and laughed and put it down.

Worse part of the whole scenario was that I had it for 2 weeks only, no insurance and it's a 24 month contract :(

That sucks :( I don't suppose you have the "Find my iphone" feature set up?

its pretty cool but you have to subscribe to mobileme (£60 a year), and its obv too late now the phone has gone.
But you can use it to check on a map where your phone is and if its nicked you can remotely wipe all your data from it.
You can also post a message on the screen so that anyone who finds it can read it (although its probably easier to call it!)

fingers crossed that it might be a friend playing a prank on you, but otherwise the person must be an idiot for nicking something that can be disabled.

oh no thats crap to hear! are you able to claim on the ole house insurance? I had to pay £100 excess for a new phone with Direct line when I got mine all wet at Bestival last year and it broke but at least I was able to get a new one.

hope you get it sorted somehow!

Sorry to hear. If you get another and have a mobileme account the find my iPhone works really well. I tried it out when driving into London then traveling around, with my wife tracking it through my account. It was spot on. The GPS isn't good enough to show which house it's in though. Hope your house contents insurance covers it, mine does but I had to give the insurer my phone's S/N and it's value.

Really sorry to hear that :(

Ill get the g/f to set up one of those accounts as she would die if hers went missing!

I can't claim through house insurance unfortunately. You lucky eh? :(

Oh you must, I hope it never happens to anyone.
sorry to hear about it
Thanks.

sorry to hear that, I bought my 9 year old daughter a cheap phone a few weeks ago, she came home on sunday in tears, it'd fallen out of her pocket on the bike ride home from her friends house, only about 500m , within 2 minutes I was out looking for it , I asked a group of 12 year olds if they'd seen it, a couple looked at the floor as they said no :suspect:, short of making them empty their pockets there was chuff all I could do so I just accepted it'd gone.

I don't get why they wouldn't give you your iphone back , it's obvious it's going to be barred

People forget there are ways to unlock Iphones.

+ nick it, sell it on within a few mins to someone.

Shame the phones gone though, perfect time to get a decent blackberry though :D

Sorry to hear about your miss fortune.
I'm just waiting for my Orange contract to run out in November then its on iPhone for me.
Is there no way you can get a replacement?

I think the Iphone has a remote wipe as well. So you can get them to erase everything on it including all your tunes and those dodgy photos for private use.

ouch , so i guess you are going to have to pay the rest of the contract  , that sucks , i bet the insurance seems cheap now , not rubbing it in , but why do you think they offer it ;)
