weekly My first TP 52 challenge 2014- Week 13- 31 added

I'd highly recommend the ETC for different techniques.

Cheers.
Will give that a go!
Either you have tiny hands or those playing cards are massive.

The composition is really well done though a few costume changes in between would've made it look better.
Thanks theyre huge cards. Did think about changing but ran out of time

Nice idea, well lit.

Just a pity about it being cramped.

Well done on the technique.

Hi James, good start to your 52 (y)

Line, bang on theme certainly but I feel the composition is a little 'off'. With these type of shots, I feel its the attention to detail which really makes the image. Everything lined up perfectly etc.
Play, again bang on theme, some clever PP work done there to bring it all together. A wider view of the scene is the only thing I would suggest.
Close, lovely colour tones in there. I feel you could have got even closer to really isolate your subject but good work all the same.(y)

Thank you very much :)

the colour balance feels a bit cold to me.
Not sure what lens you are using? I know there isn't much you can do about it, but I find the bokeh effect of it a bit distracting in the background .

I was using a 35mm 1.8

Agree with the white balance being out my Canon often leaves things a bit bluey.

Love the colour of the leaves though

Close. I do like winter leaves.

Closer for me and looks a little blue. WB maybe.

Cheers.
Thank you both. I usually shoot raw so I can change it but on this occasion I didn't for some reason.

Yes, bit of a cast on it and too much distraction in the background and at the bottom of the pic.

Like the multiplicity shot for the play theme. I had a play at these last year and getting the overlap right takes some work so well done.

Close most has been said already tighter crop and WB other wise nice image. (y)

Hi James

Not gonna crit Play as it's something I couldn't even attempt to do , so just a  from me

Close....almost there with the DOF , viewed big on flickr the lower part of the leaf is very slightly oof but I appreciate how much of a pain DOF can be with this type of shot :)

Close - I like the colours and the detail but I do find the white blob a bit distracting. WB does not worry me at all, sometimes you want things to look a bit colder or warmer.

Love the Close image, liking the bokeh from the leaves and blues and greens behind, but agree maybe a little closer would have been good.

Hi James
liking colours and detail in 'close' but find the busy background a little distracting.

Close: Could be closer I guess as others have mentioned. other than WB menitoned, It apperars a little oversaturated, or is it just me?

All said and done though....not a bad shot (y)

Thank you all for your comments and advice

Agree with Mandy - getting closer to the bubbles would have been good.

I like it as is James - really nice effect on the left side with the light coming up through the bubbles.

Good shot James, I like the colours and reflections on the CD (y) I was going to agree with comments above about a closer crop, but having viewed it larger on flickr, think it's fine as it is :)

Gonna have to agree with the girlies... A close up would show the colours very nicely, liking your idea :)
Thanks for your comments

Yeah, looks much better via Flickr. I can see getting closer would snow more detail in ten bubbles but I feel you'd loose some of the impact.

Cheers.

It looks better on the larger sized image in flickr!
I agree it would look better closer up, but good idea.
thanks both
