I wasn't sure where best to post this?!

Ok so this is my first attempt at doing timelapse (time-lapse, time lapse, seen it spelt all three ways online!) and I'm pleased with how it came out as an experiment in what does and does not work. It's certainly not as easy as I thought it might be, with how to set the camera, looking out for dust spots, working out how the light might change during the fixed exposures and of course the sheer amount of time you have to put in to it. Still, here we go...link is to my blog by the way as I couldn't get a YouTube video to embed on here?! Plus there is more info about shooting the video and a little 'behind the scenes' vid I did for fun.

Miami timelapse video.

Hope you enjoy :)

Well done.

Really enjoyable watch.
Good music selection too

Fantastic, really very nicely done indeed. Nice music as well.

Excellent, makes me want to try it out!!!!

Oh, in your settings paragraph, you reference "shot" where should it not read "shoot"? But I'm just being picky

keep it up..wish i was in miami...maybe next year

hi richard, im just getting into time lapse and you video is top draw especially for a first attempt. Did you use an intervalometer to take the shots, or did you take each shot manually?

Thanks all, much appreciated :)

If you have a quick look at the article on the blog it gives some info behind the shots. I used the D3's built in interval shooting mode - most Nikon DSLRs have it. Although yesterday I just brought a cheap Intervoltmeter off eBay for £20. The only reason for doing so is the D3 can only shoot a max of 999 shots where as with the Intervolt you can shoot unlimited so it will give me more flexibility if I ever need it.

Wow, MK showed me your timelapse. It's great! Your website is looking fantastic too - definitely something for MK to aspire to :)

Absolutely brilliant.

Wow thats great! I've been wanting to try this for ages, don't have anything as nice as miami for a backdrop though!
