A few months ago i got approached by a US magazine called Popular photography about using one of my pictures for there November Issue.

I was well excited and at first thought it was a joke but i kindly agreed for them to use my image to see what happens. Fast forward to today and they kindly sent me a copy of the magazine with my first ever print i have sold!!!

Well excited. Never imagined any of my pictures could be bought by anyone let alone a magazine.

It is the picture i took above the title "Wet Down" where i was on my way home from a social photo meet up in shoreditch. It was a raining at the time but still took out my camera to take pictures as there was some interesting light and reflections to capture

TBH I dont think its anyones businss if he got paid or not.. that sort of thing is for talk business where the OP didnt post..

Well done I say.. whatever money you got will be well gone while the achievement will stay forever :)

Congratulations mate, if you're in London it would be great to get out with the camera together as I'm yet to meet anyone here that shares my interest in photography!
 
Well done - good to see Shoreditch (where I grew up) in the mag !

This is on my wish list of things to achieve....get a photo published. Must be a great feeling of achievement.

Its a nice feeling to see an image in a magazine isn't it! :)

How did they find your image?

This was one of 3 shots that a Lincolnshire magazine asked if they could use of mine... I thought at most I would see a quarter to half page images but get full spreads so was dead chuffed.

Strangely enough our image was found through facebook after over a couple of thousand hits through a few defferent pages and they asked the question there after... you should see if they want any more images.. mine worked out with the bonus of them getting me to do more paid work as a freelance for them, maybe they could with you? :)

Here was our first magazine one.. not a photography mag like yours though so not quite as exciting!

What magazine is that? Yea i could ask them if they want some of my pics :)
 
It was a magazine called Lincolnshire Today, basically they are involved in pretty much everything Lincolnshire based so events, places, planes, trains business etc.

Just so happened that they were doing a feature on the Red Arrows and the main images were using mine, the double spread and the second page images of a front on 9 formation smoke against the sunset and the none exciting images were done by the writer or some RAF person I believe.

Yeah well its worth asking them, if they like your style there is a good chance they would use other images of yours, Lincs today saw my Vulcan sunset shot and used that also so was well happy with that too so deffo worth asking.

Jesus, only just looked how bad the image of the magazine is... and that is why a Galaxy S2 camera is rubbish! :D haha

hehe thanks!

i got two shoots to do on the horizon. one i am doing is as practise for free and the other i will ask for a bit of payment :)
