My first play with layers

Just my first play with layers in on1 photo raw 2019,not the best photo or my editing for that mater but it's a start loads to remember with this layer thing i must say
and as my old head is getting on i do find it harder but it's only a bit of fun !

A key part of making composite images is considering lighting. If the sun were coming from behind the ruin, how would the side facing us and the foreground be lit?

Couple of comments on the after version.
The Abbey looks washed out against the new sky, can you up the contrast,as Toni says the front would be in shadow so a contrast boost would make it a bit darker ,you have gained a couple of what look like marker posts just in front of the Abbey and a pylon? to the right of the sun.
Have a go and see if you can get rid of the buildings to the left of the Abbey they are a bit distracting.
Other than these few minor niggles it looks pretty good, keep up the good work

I agree with @troutfisher the abbey lighting doesn't look right on the after version. Try turning up the contrast on it so that it matches the sky.
