Not sure whether I should put these in people and portraits or here in lighting, but as it's mostly about my first use of off camera flash shenanegans here it is.

These aren't the most exciting or dynamic shots in the world, but they're not meant to be. Was a corporate job for a big staff profile board type thing. So, it's just a traditional head and shoulders shot. But, was quite a big deal for me today as it was my first job in the field using a speedlight off camera lighting set up. For a first go I'm fairly pleased, but had a few issues along the way. Still so much to learn about off camera flash, but loving it.

Couple of examples below, feedback very much appreciated!

(oh and if anyone wants to play guess the lighting set up be my guest :) )

looks like one flash (beauty dish) left and high
2nd (or reflector) off to the right

(as face the model that is)

As Roy Walker might say, gooood but not reeeeiight.

Great shots, can you tell me the set-up. I too am embarking on a corporate portrait shoot and will be using two speedlites - 580exII and 430ex. What camera did you use and how did you trigger them? what problems did you have etc?

thanks
