Afternoon all,
Looking to buy my first DLSR camera and don't know which one or what I need.
Almost all of my photography will outside as I fish a lot and am always out of my boat. So it will be horizons, sun sets and close up's on fish.

I don't mind buying second hand and have got about £250.

Thanks in advance

Hi
Welcome to TP. You might be better off going into a shop and holding the various cameras available to see what feels comfortable. Once you know what you like have a look at various second hand dealers like mbp photo, misfuds to see what they have. Once you have enough post you can buy from the classifieds in the forum.

Don't forget you will have to factor in the cost of lens, bag, spare battery etc.

any reason you want a dlsr - a compact maybe better suited for fishing and boating

Have you also considered m4/3 if you want a system camera

:)

Maybe consider a waterproof compact? Be a shame to get a nice expensive SLR all wet and salty....

I have had a couple of Pentax waterproofs and they are quite cheap and usable for snaps...

Thanks for the replies. The camera will be tucked away in the cabin so it 'shouldn't' get wet!!
I'm going to pop to shop today and see some. I can get a used niko D500 for £300 or acannin EOS 400D for £250.
I'll se what happens at the shop today
