My First Book!

Nice one, congrats! Where I am in the Cairngorms red squirrels are a daily sight for me. Funny little critters:)
 
If anyone is interested in an update, the book is off to presses on Monday! :)

I'm also really pleased to say that BBC's Steve Backshall has written the foreword for the book, which is amazing since he is such an inspiration to me.

Very impressive, well done!

Coincidentally, there was an article in the Telegraph on Saturday (21st) about red squirrels. I only scanned through it but I think it referred to the Prince of Wales being interested in them. Might be an interesting PR opportunity if you could get a copy of your book to him and a response (depending on your view of the Royals, of course) :thumbs:

I was approached by a local publisher and she wanted to produce a book with me.

Fantastic achievement, well done. I've had one picture published in a local paper and I sent that in, was chuffed to bits though. Can only imagine how happy you are.
 
wonderfull stuff, i will be buying one as a christmas present for my 2 year old (as well as me), he loves wildlife, especially squirrels. He feeds them over the local park and gets really excited when e sees them. Sadly no red ones though...

If i posted it to you and paid for return postage would you put a note in it and sign it for him...something to treasure for when he is older and shooting for national geographic lol!!!

Sure :) You can order on my site and add a note in checkout under instructions to ask me to sign it. I'm back in uk on 19th december.

Or your method is fine too!

I can't wait to see this book - it looks superb. I have never ever seen a red squirrel so I rely on your photographs all the time to admire them.

Well done Will, missed this when you posted originally. Looks a nice publication and it must be a great feeling, just started working on my own book too with a deadline of March 2015 so hope it turns out as nicely as yours:thumbs:

Yeah first time I have seen this thread and you are not that far from me so Well Done !! Brilliant news and the cover photo looks stunning
