My edits won't stick in Adobe Bridge

Yes
I open from Bridge into Camera Raw, make an edit, then when I return to Bridge the edits haven't applied and I'm left with the original. A .xmp is created detailing the edits I have made but they won't apply to my raw file. I have to open from Camera Raw into Photoshop to save my edit in a non-raw format.

This is potentially devastating to my workflow, so can anyone help or suggest where I might start to find a solution?!

I have upgraded everything to the latest versions, tried a different SD card, rest all my camera settings but to no avail. This has only become a problem in the last week or so - never happened before.

Clues anyone?

Dont you have to save as a jpg or tiff first? Im pretty sure you cannot open a raw file, make changes & still keep the file in a raw format.

Sorry - I should have explained more clearly - Of course the .raw stays the same but the edits are contained in the .xmp sidecar file which should apply themselves to the associated .raw file. I have the .raw, I have the .xmp, but they ain't talking to each other in Bridge.

Which version are you using, it should show the updated image as soon as you click done. In camera raw raw preferences (in bridge) what are the save setting, save as sidecar?

It should show an updated image as soon as I click done, yes - and it always has in the past - I've changed no settings and it's just decided to not play ball anymore. I can't check now, but my save setting should show save as sidecar as checked, as I always have a load of .xmp files alongside the .CR2 raws whilst I'm editing.

I guess in the long run the fact that it's forcing me to change to using .dng files might not be a bad thing, but I'm just concerned I'm losing functionality somewhere.

It was working ok before? Try clearing preferences, that something fixes odd issues with photoshop.

Sounds like BRidge is showing you the cached version.

Delete the cache.

Bridge is ridiculously buggy....

Did the first thing fix it? If not then yeah, look for the folder and nuke it.
