Yes
let her out with the other two dogs at 6.30pm in my grounds not to be seen again
She's 8 years old and fat and bimbles around
I reckon someone has picked her up at the end of the drive
She's not very bright and loves people and getting in cars
Missing from knypersley Biddulph stoke on trent
very stressful and had a sleepless night

I have obviously looked everywhere
I have put up posters last night and been with posters to the local shops
put her up on dog web sites and face book and the local vets
phoned the dog warden this morning too
I live in a remote area and the country lane is a commute short cut
She likes getting in cars and cars tend to pull over in my drive entrance to let people pass she will try and get in these cars she;s not very bright and is getting on now
any thing else you think I can do

i have liked this onto facebook i hope she is home soon.

Ah sweet so shes home and safe then :)

Is she chipped?

As she is a bit on the chubby side I'd be checking all the local food places to see if she's hanging out there waiting for food!

Hes found her shes home :|

Glad to hear that she's back and it's a happy ending.

Our neighbour's cat used to have a thing about getting into cars too. The number of times she almost took a trip to Bristol with me after sneaking in when I was loading stuff up in the mornings. It got to the point where I'd have to do a check of the back seat and the passenger foot well before pulling off the drive

Big relief and a happy ending many thanks for your help ]
she was half a mile up the road she had followed someone
she is very friendly too friendly infact and will just follow anyone for attention and get in peoples cars
I have had her since a pup and she had a twin sister who died of a heart condition in my arms at the age of 4
she became depressed and wouldn't go out after her sister died and has got fat
she is comical and loyal unlike the x wife lol
I live in the former grounds of an old hall on a country lane I have gates on both the drives that I have put up and made electric but the grounds are quite large and impossible to fence entirely for a jack russel even one of this size
before you all think I live in a stately home I don't I live in an edwardian semi which are a pair of former miners managers dwellings on the old former estate of knypersley hall

She's back safe and sound
glad no one bought the x wife back mind you I didn't post up any lost posters for that one roflol

As the owner registered keeper of two Jack Russells whose favourite movies are The Great Escape and The Colditz Story, we've planned for just such a possibility!

If the dogs go missing, it's straight into the nearest estate agents' and offer full asking price in cash for anywhere we can move into today! :naughty:

I'm glad for you she's back! I once lost a Corgi puppy overnight and it was a horrid few hours. The woman who found him, ratting in her compost heap, opened a tin of stewing steak for him and that made for two reasons he wasn't mad keen to come home to us!

after the initial 5 minutes of glee from the dog she promptly wandered off round the corner whilst I was thanking this old couple and went into their house
obviously they have a nicer house than me lol

Where's Ian D J when you need him???

So did someone dog nap her? Or were you jumping to conclusions?

Good to see the dog home but maybe you should put it on a diet, that can't be good for a dog to be that fat.

I'm glad you got her back safe, one of mine went off in early January and was away two nights in the worst weather and up here that's no joke, I hunted high and low but he turned up at the door on the third morning tired and hungry I thought he was a goner , all very worrying.

With moderator hat very much on - stop being such a misery in the face of good news please Tom, I am sure Tony is well aware that the dogs weight isn't good, no need for preaching or questioning the obvious thoughts that run through your mind when your beloved pet goes missing.

Pot/kettle lol

I must admit the same thought ran through my head as Tilers', too much love can kill an animal, glad it's home though ;)

Mike.

No probs Yv but I am more peeved that the OP had wild accusations that are probably unfounded, dog napped indeed!

Pleased for you :)
BUT please do the dog a favour and cut down on her food, she's well overweight.

..and that is what peeved me more than the weight comment to be fair - it is exactly what you think when a pet just vanishes, one of many wild thoughts that cross your mind [not to mention it being actually marginally easier to accept than the worse scenario of fatal accident]. I don't think they were wild accusations and nor would anyone else that has lost, either temporarily or permanently, a much loved pet. Just for info, jack russell thefts did actually increase after the film the Artist was released, sooooo..... shall we leave it at that. ;)

But as a pet owner my 1st thoughts are that it is an animal and it has wandered off to mark territory or in search of food, not that there are dog snatchers.

On a lighter (no pun) note, would anyone be able to 'snatch' this hound?

I never understand why we 'have to leave it there' when it is a discussion and folk want to put their point across. Next I will be accused of trolling or being abusive and insulting which, as you can see, I am not.

she is fat
and has been on a controlled diet for 3 years
her weight increased drastically after she became very ill with women trouble and had emergency surgery to remove all her lady bits
the vets did say she would put on weight but we didn't think she would get this fat
her food is weighed and she is fed this set amount twice a day
so before you judge it is best to be aware of the facts she is also old

she's not fat she's just very short for her weight

OK, if I have to spell it out, even if it is only for the benefit of everyone else as I am pretty sure you do get it Tom, you are the only person that viewed this thread as a 'discussion', instead of what it actually was - someone asking for help to find a lost pet...followed by an announcement that the dog was found and thanks for the help. No discussion invited, and certainly no need to be quite so, shall we say 'overly blunt' with your opinions about the matter, it was uncalled for and is the reason you got called on it. If you want to call that trolling, feel free, I am not but I am saying it wasn't needed and cast a sour note over what had become an otherwise happy thread. This is happening more and more on TP [generally, not just aimed at you] and is what we are working to get reduce. I hope that is clear enough, I am not going to argue the point further, just ask that you simply think about what you say, where you say it and most importantly, how you say it.

considering we are now discussing the dogs weight issues perhaps these people would like to give us their height and weight

Ill start I am 6 foot and 11 stone 12
and 50 years old
lets hope some of the moaners aren't porkers lol

5' 8"

14st 0lb

and 51.

Been going to Weihghtwatchers for 4 months and lost 1 1/2 st.

So glad the little lady is back home safe and sound, she's a pretty little lady too.

I have never been to weight watchers
my x wife went all the time she was 5 foot 6 and weighed 7 stone 13
she had issue but clearly they weren't with her weight roflol

I thank you all for your concerns but I have been very concerned about the dogs weight increase these past few years and she makes regular visits to the vet since her op
he also has concerns with her weight and suspects some form of thyroid issue
her food intake is very specific and is weighed
the other two young jack russels I have eat twice what she gets and they are skinny
I think dogs are like people some are destined to be fat some aren't
My mother has battled with weight all her life she is 76 now and weighs 14 stone and is 5 foot 1
she is in perfect health and has always been active but fat
