My expensive trip to Jessops today! For me this is the most I have ever spent on lenses in one go!

Really pleased with both lenses though. All in all it was a good day out, although my target of a D300 is now once again miles away!

Also sorry for the poor quality pic, was on my phone!

Great choice, i just got my Nikon 70-300VR today, very impressed so far, cant wait for the rain to stop!.
The Sigma 10-20 is my next lens. Let us know how you get on, they will be even better on a D300 though..........

Nice bit of glass, but what sort of deal did you get?

I picked up a Canon EOS 5D a few weeks ago. Not having bought a camera/lens for a while, Jessops was my first port of call, but I couldn't believe how expensive they were compared to other online retailers. (I got the 5D and some lenses from Mifsuds in the end, based on a mention in a post on here)

I got my D300 body from Jessops for £965 - I have not seen it anywhere in the UK cheaper, online or high-street... It did involve a web discount code and some haggling with the manager, but still....

i think that sigma 10-20 should be good, even on a nikon

i think jessops can be hit and miss, you can get a really decent store, with sensible level headed people that will do what they can to give a decent price, or the by the book people that refuse to even call head office to see if they can price match, depends how lucky you are.

Very nice. Don't you just love new toys! I had the 70-300mm vr. great lens. Best value lens Nikon do in my opinion.

I have found Jessops to be pretty good with me. Clued up staff who have a bit of room to haggle, was great fun getting the price down on my 40d :)
