My D90 possibly gone faulty.

I bought a brand new Nikon D90 in 2009 and the shutter count is 27800. not a lot really.
Using it las weekend i was getting "err" on the LCD display and the shutter felt like it was jamming in the sense that when the shutter button was pressed it opened but did not close. I have tried other lenses with the same result just to make sure the contacts were ok and cleaned them also.

Do you think it is faulty please.

It sounds like the shutter has packed up. Without seeing it's difficult to say for sure, but that's where my money is.
